Our Top Tips for Kuching:
1. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is a MUST! Get there early in the morning. It is only 10RM but you are not guaranteed to see them. If you don't see orangutans in the morning, you can use the same ticket in the afternoon.
2. Stay at The Cove 55 - stunning hotel.
3. Download the 'Maxim' app for taxis. This was so much cheaper than grab and you could book the taxis in advance.
*There are many more things to do such as going to Bako National Park but we unfortunately ran out of time..

The "gula apong" is made from the sap of wild palms (the "apong" palm). And, no... we don't clear land to plant those wild palms. They grow in abundance in swampy and waterlogged coastal areas which aren't the homes of OrangUtans but homes to crocs and other wildlife.
