Visited one time in 1992 and returning this week! Anxious to see if it’s still as magical as I remember!

As a teen, my parents and I would camp at the Vineyard, for two weeks.. This was back in the 1960's.. Haven't been back since.. It might have lost its charm.. Life was simple back then... Go and enjoy..!

I’m a teenager now, and my dad my sister and I go every summer for about a week and we meet my dad’s side of the family up in our house in Chilmark. I have been going I think since I was a year old but I look forward to it all year round. But I can confirm it has not lost its charm.

Why is it called a “vineyard” if there is NO VINEYARD? …..and who is Martha?

The person who first discovered the island named it after his mother. Correct me if im wrong

It’s funny to realize it’s just a part of MA and nothing super special. I remember hearing about it on the show Gilmore Girls and they talked about it like it’s a ritzy, exclusive place for high class, but then again I’m sure the fictional characters knew where to go for that. Lol

Martha's Vineyard has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Martha's Vineyard is not going to be the monolithic society that they once were in the last century. Conservatives are going to be at the center of that. It's a huge transformation for Martha's Vineyard to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode, and Conservatives will be resented because of our leading role. But without that leading role, and without that transformation, Martha's Vineyard will not survive.
