I have allways been bullied relentlessly at school and I am so grateful to people like you who are helping to spread awareness and understanding and spreading the message that bullying is not ok. Unfortunately so many people think that it is and don't give a damn what they might be doing to others. They don't know and they don't care. It's so annoying when teachers think that they can just say to bullied "don't be mean." That isn't going to solve the issue. There still going to do it because for some reason in school being mean earns you a higher social status it doesn't matter how many detentions you give them. What needs to happen is for people to be taught that it is NOT COOL to bully. Some bullied may not even think they're bullying. They probably just think they're having a laugh with there mates. Only there is actually a difference between having a laugh and causing serious suffering to someone who may already be suffering enough as it is. If someone who's reading this is treating someone badly I am here to tell you that although that little snarky mean comment you made didn't seem like much to YOU and you probably just forgot about it ... the person who it was directed towards didn't forget about it and they're hanging on to it and they feel worthless and like they suck and they keep looking in the mirror deprecating themselves wondering maybe if I changed the way I look then they wouldn't bully me anymore ... or maybe if I wasn't such a nerd and I didn't stand out or whatever it is. Stop bullying people because your actions DO affect people and YOU can make the choice as to weather or not you want your actions to affect people negatively or positively. That power is in YOUR hands so use it wisely.
