Hi sir, In my open terrace we did waterproofing 6 months back. We didn't thought of laying tiles. But now we decided to lay tiles. What is the process to put tiles now? Do we need to waterproof once again before laying tiles? Do we need to chip the earlier waterproofing so that the tiles can stick well?

My contractor suggest white colour ceramic tiles for waterproofing and hit proofing purpose....reason is ceramic tile absorb water and best for outside area for contraction.... For Grout he mixes SBR LATEX in cement mortar....is his logic acceptable?? Needed your guidance... thanks in advance

3 -5 mm spacers u can use and u will get good quality Grout in myk laticre, Ardex Endura, Sika etc companies

Sir, u have a roof terrace then u don't need any specific / special tiles. As u mentioned ur budget u can go with Ceramic tile of size 16x16inches or 2x2 or any other vitrified tiles which comes in Budget

Most houses here have full overhead roofs. I am looking for an alternative to the roof that is why I watched your video. Can you recommend a solution in detail or should I go for a roof? Hello Harsh Ji, If u make a roof then terrace will going to be more Protective. Seepage not only comes with terrace ,there might be a more different reasons, like if there is a leakge in plumbing, your area soil moisture containt etc. Please do ask some Experts Civil Engineers or Structural Engineers to visit ,they will suggest you in better way, without inspection of site ,I cannot give you the right solution.

Sir, main issue is water leakage during rainy season and main leakage is through the gap between two tiles. No matter how much u fill the grout the water leakage do happen and it becomes very difficult to trace the leakage. How to overcome it.

@@prashanthluke Sir, Waterproofing done, sufficient slope given, matt finished tiles installed, epoxy grouting done still the water leakage that too in heavy quantity damaging false ceiling, lights, fan and even furniture on top of it water in room and stress due to it. Major leakage happening due to leakage from grout. even damproof from Asian paint not sufficient to hold water
