Hi. I'm planning to visit Meghalaya from 10th-15th Feb. But a few locals are advising me against it saying that it won't be as scenic as the waterfalls will be dry. What do you suggest?

How would be March?...Can we expect lush green that time?
@PursuitoftravelАй бұрын
March in Meghalaya marks the start of spring, with pleasant weather and moderate temperatures. However, the lush greenery may be slightly subdued compared to the monsoon months (June-September). Waterfalls might not be as full, but the landscapes remain scenic and vibrant.

Will there be water in all the waterfalls during December end?
@Pursuitoftravel2 ай бұрын
In December, the water flow in the waterfalls typically reduces due to the dry season. However, many waterfalls, especially the prominent ones like Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and Krang Suri Falls, still retain a scenic flow.

What about first week of September?
@Pursuitoftravel4 ай бұрын
The first week of September is not the ideal time to visit Meghalaya due to the ongoing monsoon. Expect heavy rainfall, which could cause roadblocks, slippery paths, and potential landslides. If you're looking for a more pleasant and safer experience, it's better to visit after the monsoon, around late September or October.

How about visiting in January end
@Pursuitoftravel2 ай бұрын
In January end, Meghalaya experiences cool and pleasant winter weather. In Shillong, daytime temp usually range between 10-15°C, while nighttime temp can drop to around 3-7°C. In higher-altitude areas like Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong, temp can be even cooler, especially at night. There may also be occasional morning fog or light mist, adding a mystical touch to the landscape. Overall, it’s a great time for sightseeing if you enjoy cool weather, though it’s advisable to carry warm clothing.

Mam thanx fr this informative video , but I have a question , can we visit in mid August ?
@Pursuitoftravel6 ай бұрын
Whether one should consider visiting Meghalaya in August depends on several factors such as the type of traveler you are, the duration of your trip, and your flexibility with weather conditions. August is known for unpredictable weather and heavy rainfall, which could potentially disrupt your travel plans. If you have limited time and a tight schedule, it might be advisable to avoid visiting during this period. However, if you have ample time and are comfortable with adapting to sudden changes due to weather, visiting Meghalaya in mid-August can still be an option worth considering.

@Pursuitoftravel7 ай бұрын
The cost and no. of days totally depends on your travel style, stay and mode of transport. However, for a economical and best way to explore Meghalaya, I would suggest to rent a two wheeler from Shillong/ Guwahati which will cost you around 700-1500 rs. per day (depending upon the scooter or bike you choose). If you are in a group of 3-4 person, you can also hire a taxi as well. And to explore the places you have mentioned, 5 days will be sufficient. Further, you can also increase or decrease your stay at any of these places as you may like. You can find budget stay at each place.
