Retired school teacher, 69, been climbing since I was 5-- 1956-- (LOL) but never made a living at it. Now I climb mostly at home in our timber for the sawmill and mushroom business. I always learn something when I watch you. Your character comes through, patience, skill, courage, kindness. thank you

You are, without a doubt, an arborist to look up too. You are at the "slope of enlightenment" of the Dunning-Kruger effect and this is a rare thing in a field where bravado is often valued over knowledge and humility. Cheers from Quebec.👍

After all the big nasties ive taken down without problems i get a severe broken ankle on the ground!! Careful out there brothers dont get complacent. When u get to work ask yourself is there any risk u take that seems harmless but might be more dangerous than u think? Never done crane picks before. Why do you do angled v cuts for the pick as opposed to say a step cut?
@ClimbingArborist

To stop the piece swinging into you once the cut it made, the V cut keeps the piece in place so you can get yourself out of harms way

I'm 52. I started when I was 13. Didn't want to but my father had this side business so I had to work. I've seen it all and done it all. I've never fallen but I have 11 bites on my legs from 10 huskys and one stihl and I'm ok with that. Fun? Not really. The crane is stealing skills I think. Boys are getting soft. Too much time spent trying to get a pic so they can put it on social media.... This business is becoming a fashion show, but that's cool....I have to do the same song and dance. Ya know what? Growing up no one fucked with the tree guy. Lol.... This mess will keep you in great shape, beyond what you can get inside a gym. Cigarettes will make you weak. I do like a nice puff of sativa on the weekends though. I'm certified, my wife is smokin, and I skydive.... Go figure. Y'all keep it out the dirt!! 👍🏼🇺🇲🦅🪂🤟🏼

Love your channel mate. Can i mention something that might help everyone with interpersonal stuff with team work or customer relations etc. It isnt nitpicking, i love your work but it's a point relating to a really common situation which came up in this video It's in relation to asking the craney to wear your radio gear I don't know when but sometime in the last few years it became common for people to say "Can i get you to do.. (insert favour or task here) People are more than willing to help out and do what has to be done for a job but asking in that way is just really unskillful, unless someone has the capacity to realize that you may know no other way to ask someone to do something neccessary for the job Best bet is just to ask, "Would you mind doing... to help me out Or Tell them what you need, if you need something people will naturally want to help out It's just something that can really help with work place relations. People will still do what you need but telling someone what to do just never goes down well even if it's not spoken I'm really not being negative, i'm trying to improve our interpersonal relating and workplace morale
