@@Seancutshair Okay. And the clippers. You only need just a single pair of clippers to do your fades and such right? I ask because I see people using multiple pairs like each one has some different use when I thought they all did the same and the guards you put on made the absolute difference.

Just want to start by saying I love your videos. Really good and very informative! Thanks! 🙏 I am struggling to make my mind up on what trimmer to buy and kind of hoped you could could give me your 5 pence 😬 Seems I am not alone looking for answers to this, so might benefit others as well. I am a "home user" looking for a trimmer that can do my beard with 3-6mm plus lines... so would not mind zero gapping possibility. I would however also want to use the same trimmer for my head with maybe 1-3mm lenght. I am kind of set on Babyliss for some reason, but open to options! Which trimmer would you suggest for this use? I guess I need a guide combs compaitble trimmer to manage the different lenghts? Price is not a main deciding factor, but naturally USD 150 is better than USD 300 😃
@Seancutshair Жыл бұрын
To be honest I don’t use any trimmer guards whatsoever so I’m not even sure what trimmers come with them. I know you can buy Babyliss trimmer guards now so that’s an option. Any of the skeletons would work great for you 👍🏻

My instincts were great for an all around, sharp and clean but never enough to irritate skin. Only issue is they crapped the bed on me in 2 months. They dont turn on unless plugged in and then stop after less than a second. Took them apart and everything seems to still be soldered and connected. Maybe I just got a lemon. I do alot of cuts a week, like 100+ so my tools get put to the test, and I disassemble to clean them daily. Ive never had a clipper or a trimmer not make it to 2 years. Usually my batteries wear and then I retire them. My babyliss fx trimmers were the most reliable, that rotary doesn’t quit. Love the Sabers too but im getting skeptical of these digital trimmers at $200+ a pop

Loved this video. Not a barber but I enjoy taking care of my own beard at home. Does anyone know of a good all around trimmer to get the job done at home straight out the box?

That’s tough totally depends on your budget. My favorite right now is the saber

Why is it so hard to find a trimmer that hits out of the box and cuts low for less than $75

@@Seancutshair yeah.. if you want a cordless trimmer with lithium ion battery (which seems to be the standard now), a motor with a fancy proprietary name, and for the blades to be sharp and set close out the box, you're looking at $120 at the absolute minimum.

@Seancutshair or you can get the TPOB for less than 100 and it's possibly the best trimmer on the market right now with that Psycho blade

I think the might have fixed the fx3 blade. I got one a month ago and it is perfect. Also, it's practically silent. I don't love shape tho. Best shape gotta be the Lo-Pro. I enjoy just holding them when I'm not using them. Soooooo ergonomic. I threw the gold fx blade and they HIT. The sabers are thicker and less ergonomic than the Lo-Pro. Haven't used em tho. Had quality control issues. If the Lo-Pro was quieter and an lil more powerful, they'd win every time.
@Seancutshair2 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of that but the saber cuts crazy dude you gotta try it
@Baldsohard3652 жыл бұрын
@Seancutshair just shipped them back yesterday. I probably won't have them in hand again for another 2 weeks. We'll see what happens then. I did use the zero gapper and test them under my chin and they scraped the shit outta me. I'm going to use it again next time and just back them off a tiny bit. I have high hopes for them, even though they're not as comfortable as the lo-pros.

@@Seancutshair okay so basically if I turn them around and cut with the front facing the the person getting the haircut the middle part does a straight line then on the edges they cut a bit higher so it looks like a chihuahuas teeth with every front teeth straight then two fangs but upside down

Hey man, in barber school, got the black fx3 trimmers. Hard hitters but too sharp for soft/sensitive skin, looking for trimmers that are gonna be good overall for balding lines without being so sharp that I’m leaving cuts on my clients. Was planning on going with the regular babyliss fx trimmers but what’s your opinion between the stylecrafters and the fx’s (sharpness wise)
@Seancutshair Жыл бұрын
Depends the fx and the sc saber are sharp but not too sharp. If you want something not sharp I’d just use a slimline pro li
