I’m glad I went with the turtle and not the samurai. The samurai is very nice, but I think it just looks too much like other watches in it’s shape.

I just picked this stunning great white and I didn't know it was special edition lol. I just liked it a lot. It was between srp777 and srpd21 because I like the silicone strap, but then I saw long island watch and I can buy a deep blue or black silicone strap. Very nice.

Great review! This Turtle is so tempting! The lume on the second hand is nicely done. It makes more sense than being on the counterbalance.

I like this watch but why couldn’t they add a sapphire crystal and a better clasp? Another thing that bothers me is they make far to many “special/limited” editions. I know it’s a sales gimmick but come on.

@@42Hertzer Actually, the original flat crystal was like the bottom of a funnel; the bezel sloped down inwards. The SRP re-issues barely do this for some reason and kinda flubs one of the cool things about the original's aesthetics. I really wish someone would make an aftermarket Turtle bezel that slopes in more, I think it would be a hot seller.

That's a tough one. I'd go for this just on the engraved bezel alone but the King is great too.

Great review! I disagree about making the shark fin stand out more, it’s far better that it doesn’t stand out, because if you didn’t know about it, it would have more of an impact and surprise factor when it was noticed. I completely agree with you that the watch dial is stunning. I think you are assuming that Seiko are improving on QC and listening to complaints based on your watch bezel lining up with the chapter ring. Did you ever think that maybe you were one of the lucky ones to get a watch with the bezel that lines up with the chapter ring. A lot of time has passed since you made this video, yet there are still constant comments about the poor QC of the Seiko watches from a lot of KZbin channels and loads of comments from people in the comments sections. I would love Seiko to drastically improve their QC, but I can’t see that happening while everyone is still buying them and accepting the misalignment, dust and lint as normal for a Seiko. If I buy a Seiko from an AD and it has misalignment issues, dust or lint on the dial I send it for a full refund and then order it again, sometimes from a different AD until I get one that is perfect. For the price of Seiko watches, they should not have these QC issues. Other brands can do it that can be far cheaper, so Seiko really has no excuse. As always though, there will always those that will defend the Seiko QC issues and worse still, are quite happy to accept them.

Amazing dial. As a PADI Turtle owner, I do like the seconds hand having the lume at the tip instead of the opposite end. Plus that shark fin end the the seconds hand is a nice touch too.

Yes, this is correct. Whoever is selling the watch mislabeled it. This is indeed a Save The Ocean Turtle.

They're talking about the chapter ring, which sits at the edge of the dial and has the markers at each minute. On a lot of Seikos it's not applied properly so it doesn't line up properly with the markers on the dial and the bezel.

This watch doesn’t wear large in all honesty. The lugs are very short. 6 inch wrist might be pushing it though. Would be worth trying on though to check

I have this the moment it came out few months ago. The only grunt I have about this watch, this watch is really thick. It feels heavy on your wrist. I would prefer it to be a tiny bit smaller or thinner. That would be just perfect. I seldom use it except for swimming or diving occasionally. Other than that, the watch will just sit in my cabinet of watches that I collect. I prefer the Omega Seamaster Professional 300m Divers watch. It's lighter, thinner and feels light on the wrist compard to the turtle. Of course it's much more expensive, but the more I wear the Seamaster, the more I fell in love with it. And I swap the Seamaster bracelet with a Nato blue with white centre stripe. It just looks amazing with matching colors of the watch blue bezels. Seiko turtle is a good beginning. One of the nicest dive watch Seiko made for the masses.
