Hands down best sport steering wheel removal diy; this single handedly saved me like 2 hours. Three quick tips: 1. Use as “flat” a flathead screw driver you can find. If the tip is curved, the spring can easily slip and you’ll have a terrible time trying to get it off since the spring will just pop back 2. When you reinstall the wheel, tighten the torx t-30 bolts so the spring and mount assembly is rigid; the springs have a lower tendency to slip when the whole assembly is nicely locked into place 3. When you have the airbag off, try doing the whole removal process a couple of times so you get some muscle memory if you need to repeat this again.

Thank you for actually explaining, literally the only video on KZbin that does this. I put the airbag in, but it doesn't quite sit flush on the right side and it protrudes a bit, the clips or those things that you push on with the screwdriver didn't look bent, so is it possible this whole metal bracket is just loose, and that's why it didn't click in properly on one side?

I'm not sure why it's not engaged properly without seeing it... I'd say take it out and make sure nothing is bent or in the way

How did you figure out the way to do something like that? I've got an '05 Lexus ES 330, with the 3rd brake lights out, and I can't figure out, how to do it myself. I've heard that its just 2 bulbs, that cost a few bucks to replace, the dealer wants $150 ! There's an ES a couple years newer that you have to remove the rear seats, and side panels, and has a $200 light panel, that needs to be replaced, not individual bulbs. Sorry for rambling on....... ✌

ive never worked on an ES330, I usually try to watch KZbin videos for stuff I can't figure out on my own, these cars are designed by idiots and some stuff is super hard to fix. dealerships are too expensive, if you're trying to replace a light bulb I would do a KZbin search and watch someone else do it first. that always helps me. this airbag was a nightmare to figure out so I felt like making a video to help others understand and make it easier for them... thanks for watching Uri. good luck on the Lexus!!

@@TimeLapseCarGuyBruno Thanks brother, I've tried youtube and cannot find a single video, on that year!

@@urideamabal ouch.. in that case you might have to just start taking stuff apart if it really bothers you.. seems ridiculous that you'd have to remove the rear seats but I've seen dumber things on cars..

@@TimeLapseCarGuyBruno Yeah, the guy in that video, said the dealer wanted $600, just for labor! Yikes....

Very helpful! One question, is it safe to remove the airbag with the battery plugged?
