I received the DaVinci this last Saturday morning. I have been busy with work (even on the last weekend) and I have had little time to thoroughly evaluate the DaVinci. Nevertheless, and after some quick eartip rolling, the DaVinci sailed through my initial top 10 test tracks well enough for me to initially decide that the DaVinci is worth its purchase price and has better transparency for details in comparison to the Performer 5, and perhaps a bit more details. I quickly discovered that the Tri Clarion eartips did muddy up the sub bass. I am presently using Azla SednaEarfitLight Short eartips with the DaVinci. I have other eartips which I want to try with the DaVinci. Regardless, the DaVinci appears to be a keeper for its price.

@@Audio-In-Reviews You are most welcome. I have settled on the Tang Sancai Balanced eartips for the best comfort and listening experience even though I prefer to use parametric EQ to tame the excessive sub bass by -3 dB in order to float my boat. I was born completely deaf in one ear and I have no choice but to listen to everything in mono. The DaVinci shines for me in terms of actually allowing me to hear significantly more noticeable depth and layering in addition to having noticeably more cleanly defined details throughout, versus the Performer 5 which I still do love. Personally for me and given my limited hearing capabilities, the DaVinci definitely is worth the price.

Don't really see the difference between this and other youtubers from audiophile community reviewing this or other such collab products. I mean most of them know each other and hand out together at CanJam etc, so you can argue that they are all affiliated with each other ;) Also, being not truthful and praising a product that is below par in a review is probably the stupidest way to ruin one's channel's reputation and credibility, so I really don't see the incentive here. That being said, I myself am somewhat biased and want this to be good due to having a pair of DaVincis en route from Hifigo at this time ;)

How would you compare these to the Blessing 3?
@Audio-In-Reviews7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I don't have the Blessing 3 anymore. But If I remember correctly, it was a little thin its presentation and lacked note weight but had really good technicalities for its price point at the time. Then when the Performer 8 came on the scene, it became my new standard at that price point so the Blessing three was no longer needed for comparisons. I subsequently sold it to put money towards an upgrade. Basically, in the end, I felt the Performer 8 was tuned slightly better and had better technical performance than the B3. And the Davinci has basically equal technical performance to the Performer 8 which means, even though I can't really do a side by side, the Davinci probably has better technical performance than the B3 and based on what I remember of the tuning of the B3, I think I prefer the tuning of the Davinci a little more too. @@thomasdanny7717can explain more details?
@Audio-In-Reviews7 ай бұрын
The Davinci is a more versatile/safe set because of it tuning and will probably work well across the board with different genres. But the SA6 MK2 wins overall especially in the technical department. It's simply more resolving and has better micro details. The SA6 MK2 is also tuned differently and is less neutral, bordering more on a V-shape tuning so it's going to be a little more engaging. And even though the Davinci's upper mid tuning is technically a little more in line with my preference I still find myself connecting with the SA6 MK2's more immersive and still very natural (especially for a near V-shape tuning) presentation. And with SA6 MK2 switch on, even though its BA bass somehow, they've managed to magically infuse some DD bass attributes into it. All that said in terms of sheer naturalness and vocal/instrument reproduction the Davinci is exceptional for its price and because of the mid bass and bass tuning (and because of the well implemented DD) it still does an excellent job of connecting and immersing me into the music. The bottom line is, though, the Davinci has set a new standard for its price point. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

@paulosilva82007 ай бұрын
Not for me. Once the mid bass is flat at high volumes, the sound looses the weight note and starts to sound thin for my taste. Bass bleed only happens at low snd medium volumes. High volumes the mid bass and sub stays the same. Only the upper mids and treble shoots up.
@phetmoz7 ай бұрын
If you take a look at the frequency response, I think you would be pleasantly surprised because the there is an elevation from 1kHz downwards, it's not flat until 200Hz but rather there is a shelf at 850Hz to 200Hz, then it starts rising into the Sub-Bass. It looks pretty good
@paulosilva82007 ай бұрын

No worries and no need to apologize :) I was watching the review with an IEM (Grand Maestro) for the first time maybe that's why I was distracted more than usual:-D thanks for your work and dedication! :)

and Moondrop with the new Dusk and higher price was not even able to provide a decent accessories set.... Dunu definitely wins! Thanks a lot for the video, looking forward to getting my set :)

l would care about the set's sound quality not quantity , l always use better cable and tips . stock ones are so ordinary .
@Manupassero7 ай бұрын
@@Greg.Siucrazyforaudio2016 in principle yes, but whenever I get a Dunu IEM the accessories are wonderful while Moondrop doesn't care that much even if the cost is higher, so I think a good set with great (maybe modular) cable and good tips is a great added value and I praise Dunu for this, not Moondrop at all... since 300 USD is not a small expense I would exect everything to be on a good level

Was I the only one who thought that this was a purely complementary review? (well, I understand why, but…) Why does the author of the video keep comparing Davinci to either dynamic iem’s or BA’ish iem’s? Where is the comparison with hybrids (except AFUL)? If my memory serves me correctly, the author of the channel really liked Blessing 3, why not compare with them, because they are worse than B3?) It seems that Davinci will be passable... But you still have to listen on your own, reviewers - this is more about advertising.
@Audio-In-Reviews7 ай бұрын
I definitely understand your position and I appreciate the honesty! Thanks for taking the time to weigh-in. I love seeing engagement in the community as long as its constructive. That being said. I don't own the Blessing 3, which is why I don't include it in my comparisons anymore. I try to stick with iems I have on hand. If I remember correctly, it was a little thin its presentation and lacked note weight but had good technicalities for its price point at the time. And the Davinci has basically equal technical performance to the Performer 8. So, it would only stand to reason that IMO the Davinci also has better technical performance than the Blessing 3. Again, I appreciate the honesty and engagement. I hope this helps clear things up a little.

You are a part of Gizaudio channel and even occasionally upload your reviews on his channel. Now, with all this relationship and conflict of interest in mind, assessing this iem and calling it the best sub $500, raise big questions over your credibility.
@vladlabyrinth63357 ай бұрын
You've already listened to them? Perhaps you had 10 hours to compare them with other models under 500$ and now you can provide arguments against that person's point of view (which are based on individual sound taste and may vary even at that level)?? If No, why the fk you wrote this crap?

I see a lot of comments regarding conflicts of interest and biases...and I agree. Not only does your affliated collab gets positive biased reviews, but credibility is lost if you can't say what could be improved with it. Or if you stop reviewing other iems in the same price range. Are you willing to say, "this other $400 (or less) iem is better"? For example, is the Simgot Supermix 4 a better buy at $150? If collaborators can't be consistent, transparent and honest, it kinda stinks. HBB, at least reviews just about everything and is consistent regardless if it's going to take away sales from his own collabs. In other words, talking about your own collabs or affiliated colab...and avoiding reviews that complete with your collab stinks. (I'm not saying that you do this Dave; it's only a general statement)

I agree with the comments saying you shouldn't have "reviewed" this and especially not with absolutely no disclaimer that you are part of Gizaudio. I suspect from everything else I've seen so far that the DaVinci is a genuinely good IEM and I have both Galileo and Chopin but this "review" puts me off it, it's a net negative.
