You can't really buy anything under $500k in Mueller.

Mueller is basically East Austin, only gentrified. Went to AD Mueller and saw those brand new condos. I have no idea how much they cost, but they're very small and I'm sure overpriced. Why would anyone buy a condo when you can get a house?

My house is in North Central and 500K, but the tax rate is high. I needed to be near a heart hospital. An upscale supermarket won't hurt either.

@@JeremyAKnight I live between rundburg and breaker east of 35 in an old 50s house. I do wonder why people avoid the east side so much that they'd rather tack a half hour onto their commute. I'm happy to see the new development here across the street at pioneer crossing though

Lovely houses, but those prices are trippin'. I just need to get used to the fact that I can't get something less than $350K. The market seems tight in every second and third tier city I've been looking into right now. Not to mention Zillow is expecting 5-7% property price increases in the coming year.

It's all overpriced. It will get worse as more Californians move in to Austin during the pandemic. You'll have to move north of Cedar Park/Leander if you want something reasonable. Or you could go south of Del Valle to get a decent sized house. Austin is one of the worst places to move to right now, along with Phoenix and Vegas.

The farther you live out from Austin, the more your quality of life will be lessened as the commutes are horrendous. For the Californians, its like living in Tracy but having to commute to San Jose every day.
