Great topic! I hate to be a wet blanket, but I’m not really sure any of our kits are iconic, mainly because of results. Having been around as an adult first the 1994 campaign, I thought the Stars jersey looked very 90’s, which was not a good fashion decade. I think they were great, but not iconic. The two critiques are they were very baggy and the collar was that of a cheap pullover. The rest was fire. 2020 home jersey’s problem is they were the same design as some other countries… totally lame by Nike. Please, please, please let 2026 be the kind of jerseys that will galvanize the USA to back our boys in World Cup!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Completely understandable, due to the unique nature and growth in popularity, as well as a respectable showing(Brazilian players like Leonardo and Bebeto say the game against the US was one the hardest in their WC winning campaign) the 94 kits became a fan favorite for some, but I agree, ultimately, campaigns make kits and that’s what’s holding us from having a truly iconic one! And Nike is sadly lazy and puts zero effort in differentiating kits, it’s just one pattern for every single national team 🙁

the '94 WC jersey was long looked at as a bit cringeworthy, and yet iconic in a grudging way. It was just just like "faded denim, USA, they really don't know the sport..." but also, so instantly recognizable and unique. It just came around to being genuinely liked, and I'm glad. Waldos and the Sash are both favorites for me. Clean, classy, looked sharp on the pitch. Loved those. The Centennial as well. It has a great look, and more exciting than you'd initially think a nearly allwhite kit would look. The Duct-tape and spraypaint design rightfully at the bottom... What if we took the Dark Waldo kit, froze it, and shattered it? Make the kit look like that. The blacklight in the cheap hotel design was my initial reaction, but it looked better on the players and on the pitch vs the initial view. Your bottom line is correct. Campaigns make the kits. Also, the leaks never look as good as they look on the pitch.

The entire design, especially the team emblem, needs revamping. They should get a new outfitter like Wilson, Russell, Converse, or Rawlings... Penney's or Sears, you know, someone else American. Ecuador gets my vote for the best new look.

All these kits are trash. Too much going on, I love all whites, it’s always a clean look, no tacky Stars and Stripes, no road kill patterns, and no goofy ass Waldo jerseys. The 2020 home kits are all time greats, it’s simple and subtle. They fucked up with the current design by add the ugly red and white stripes on the sleeves.

1994 is overrated, that uniform is ugly theres no powder blue in the American flag. 1993 was way better.
