With all the remasters and retro sequels we have been getting, I'm surprised Sega hasn't done anything with Shinobi yet. I'd love to get something new starring Joe Musashi, if done right of course. Sonic, Alex Kidd and Joe Musashi were the big 3 Sega mascots back in the late 80s, and it seems like last year's Alex Kidd remake wasn't too impressive.

Sega hasn't done much with most of their series really. Ristar, Vectorman, Nights, Bonanza Bros., WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILDDDDD WOODY, Phantasy Star(outside of Japan, within Japan it's still very popular), Kid Chameleon(though that was presumably meant to be just a one-off game; would still like to get some closure on what happened to Casey Jones though), ChuChu Rocket, etc.

I was SNES player when I was a kid and discovered Mega Drive too many years later. Simply this game is the best game on the system, it’s a game you enjoy and you can play easily on a afternoon break. Perfect.

The last I heard of Shinobi was a DS remake that I'm not even sure came out in the west. It's a shame; I played a lot of Revenge of Shinobi as a kid and as a teen, I fell in love with III. They're so good.

This and Streets of Rage had some legendary soundtracks that I jam to this very day. For Shinobi III, the stage after jumping the rocks (the final pretty much) has the best soundtrack. For those of you that haven't heard Streets of Rage's beach soundtrack, you missed out.
