Going to the top of the Mahanakhon Power Tower in Bangkok, Thailand was both amazing and terrifying. We loved the adventure of going up the speedy elevator, seeing the tiny replicas of the city of Bangkok, seeing the amazing views of the city, but especially walking on the glass floor at the top of the tower 314 meters (1030 feet) high.
Our day started with as a chill day where the kids were playing toys, doing homework, and working on videos. Mom and Sam wanted to go shopping at the street market we went to yesterday, but were surprised to find it closed, especially on a Saturday! Instead, they went to the store and brought a few things we needed.
Then, we were off on our adventure to the Mahanakhon Power Tower. It was amazing that our Airbnb was only a six-minute walk away from the tower. We didn't realize that it was one of the most visited sites in Bangkok. While Mom waited in the long line, Dad and the kids played a fun minefield game. JoeJoe was amazing at the game and practically made it to the end. It was a fun and creative way to keep the kids entertained while we waited.
When Mom called, we were ready for our adventure. We loved the small replica on the ceiling of all the buildings in Bangkok. Then, we went up the coolest elevator we have ever been on. The elevator went faster than any elevator we have been on. Also, it was animated where it felt like you were flying into another world. Which we practically did. When we stepped off the elevator we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful sun setting on the horizon overlooking the beautiful city of Bangkok. We realized that many people plan on being at the top of the tower for the sunset, and we just happened to be there at the perfect time by chance.
We loved the amazing levels at the top of the tower. There were so many beautiful things, especially the panoramic views of the entire city. There was also some fun, pumpin' music at the top that Grace enjoyed dancing to. The highlight of it all was going out on the observatory that was made completely out of glass. We learned that there were six glass panes that were 60sqm. As we each stepped out on the glass, it felt like we were going to fall through the floor. Your stomach would almost fall out because your mind would tell you there was nothing there. It was amazing to look straight down at the beautiful city.
We were up on the top for long enough that we were able to see the city in the setting sun as well as lit up at night. It was amazing. After waiting in line to go back down to the bottom, we were starving and headed to the Patpong Night Market. See our next video tomorrow at this link ( • 3-Year Old EATS SCORPI... ).
