having been in Croatia and Greece, there is no way Greece is cheaper if you are comparing apple for apples destinations like Santorini and Dubrovnik. The food is great but you obviously are not sure what to order as Greek food is very plain and fried which you would be used to in Australia. Croatian cuisine is unique to Australians but great if you know what to order.

I wouldn't call the food in Greece better. There are plenty of excellent and cheap restaurants in Dalmatia. Just gotta know where. And its normal that the food in places like Hvar and Dubrovnik is way too expensive. For instance just go to an island next to Hvar and the food is half the prize. Also if you just drive 5min away from Dubrovnik old town the food is waaaayy cheaper...you would pay like 13 Euro for a meal and not 30 euro like in old town Dubrovnik.

the food in greece is hundred percent better, mate! I am in Split now and the food is way too expensive and not good. SO yeah.

Ah Dubrovnik! We went years ago and did that kayaking trip 😂 the walk on the wall was definitely the best! Love the lens flares

Food in Croatia isn´t bad or expensive at all if you are able to avoid specific tourist traps like the old town of Dubrovnik. ;) If you are vegetarian or vegan, you have to check out the vegan restaurant called "Nistha", located in the old town of Dubrovnik. I´ve been there two times, and it was just brilliant! There are tons of very good restaurants all over the Adriatic coast, where you can get a complete fresh and deliciuos meal for 10 - 15 Dollars. Actually Croatia is world famous for it´s food. ^^

I know it sounds so cliche but Melbourne in Australia has some of the best coffee in the world :) also can't go wrong with timmies in Canada, but not because its good, because its a way of life!

I hate to say this, but you two must have gone to all the wrong restaurants (aka the pop-up/well-known ones). My husband and I went in 2021 and we had amazing food everywhere we ate, and it was quite inexpensive (in our opinion). Unfortunately you mostly visited the super popular port stops. Kenoba Dubrova in Dubrovnik (up on mt srd, but not the one next to the cable car) was delicious! They had amazing Peka
