I don’t have a 35’ hose to use in the test. Probably not a good plan as water will sit in that hose after you are finished and it will be tough to dry out. Thanks for watching

when it's time to empty, you need to climb up to get vac from high up wall?! so you do not/did not empty every night? I know you have a different setup now but wondering when you have this set up and it needed to get empty every night Was it a pain to do so?

Easy and only would empty when needed. I have a small step stool that reaches it easy. You could have it lower to the ground depending on your setup. Thanks for watching

I am absolutely loving your setup. Do you find that the 5.0 rigid vacuum has enough sucking power for detailing? I have 6.0 SHO-vans but I’m thinking they might be overkill. I’d love something much smaller.

Thanks for watching the channel. The rigid is a great little machine that does a great job. It provides a good amount of suction and I don’t notice any noticeable loss from the 35’ hose reel. More is always a good thing as long as the machine is actually producing more suction. The rigid is known for being a powerful small machine. Thanks again and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Did you check out the pressure washer vids. You may like that setup too.

Anthony Torrence Anthony Torrence it is a hard wired switched outlet. The plug is next to the vacuum and it is controlled by the switch under the reel. There are other options out there. Ralda’sdetails left a comment with an alternative soulution.

What did you do with the nuts that are on the back of the plywood against the wall. On your other video with the pressure washer and reel you did the same thing. Did you put spacers behind the bolts and plywood?

Check out the video. There is blocking behind the drywall. The plywood was for a friend that had a finished garage. My garage was a remodel so I studied it out prior to drywall for all of my reels. Thanks for watching

i have the same exact set up and love it so much my handle is also on the left side due to vacuum being on the right side but i wrapped it opposite way end of the hose end up being on the top when coiled all the way i would suggest trying it much easier to coil and unwrap just an idea but yeah its a killer set up man all right :)

What size lag screws/washer did you use?

I used 2 1/2” lag bolts. The wall blocking is 1 1/2” + 3/4” drywall + 1/4” base plate of the reel makes for 2 1/2” to reach full depth. The reel is heavy so having full depth lags are worth it. Thanks for watching.

I realize a 50 ft. vacuum hose can be used on this Cox reel instead of the 35 ft. you are using. Can you, or any others, give assurances that it does indeed work as effectively with a 50 ft. hose as it does with the 35 ft? Want to use with OVO 700AW central vac unit but don’t want 50 ft. hose to be difficult reeling in.

What vacuum accessories do you use that attach to the end of the hose? (crevice tool, etc.)

I use a crevice tool mainly but also use a brush attachment to help agitate sand from the carpet and a floor attachment to vacuum up the swisstrax garage flooring. The floor attachment is good to have with this wall mounted unit.

Yeah. You have to get the lag bolts that work for your situation. I used stainless 2.5” with fender washers. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I looked into it. The Coxreels I use have a 2" hose and 1-1/2 cuff where the vac attaches to the reel. That is the only size available from them. Sorry I was not able to help. There may be other options that are for other uses like pool cleaning I believe uses a 2" hose and they have some reels that are not as easy to look at but might do the job. Yeah. The original idea was to build high quality affordable wall mounted vac solution that could be upgraded to a vacumaid or similar as needed. That was my plan and I have to say this setup works so well I have no reason to switch it out at this time. Plus you can easily disconnect the vac from the reel and take it mobile.
