As long as you wet your hand before touching the trout your good. It's when you touch them with dry hands is where the problem is. Takes not only the slime coat off it also takes their tiny scales off and that's where the problem is Also with the water starting to get cooler try using some smaller profiles like the zman slim swimz. They look like little Crystal MinnowZ and those trout will destroy it. With love shrimp definitely recommend try that split shit closer to the hook. Try about 3 to 4 inches from the hook I always seem to have better luck with it like that. But most the time I free line. Keep the shrimp as natural as possible
