1) 2-3 tbsp laundry detergent to piping hot water. Scrub with rag and then brush (covered in cloth) 2) sprinkling baking soda and rub. Leave 10 mins to absorb odors 3) rewet the cloth and scrub 4) dry with new cloth and scrub

I just used this technique to clean my couches (thank goodness my seat cushion covers are removable) and I'm impressed. Normally I would use laundry detergent to scrub and then just wipe them down. The baking soda step REALLY got the dirt and grim out and they smell so fresh! Thanks!

This works great, my couch looks brand new, thank you! I used the scrub brush to lift the nap back up on the fabric when I was finished and that helped keep it from being stiff. This was so helpful!

Amazing, I have had my sofa for a long time as well, ours was for 18 years. I actually think it was the same kind of couch, it had a kelly green tint to it though. The only thing different was the microfiber towels. I just used cotton towels. Baking soda is a definite staple in my closet. Thank you for showing a great hack. Pls be safe and God Bless. 💗🙏

So I've been wanting to clean my mf couch but I've read to pick up the cushion and look for the letter that tells you what to use. W for water or water based And wither c or s for chemical or solvent. Mine has neither letter. My dog licks her feet all the time and it's just made dark spots all over the sofa and love seat so dark it looks like a cola or choc stains. So I'm scared to use water, on top of that this set is red so would a white towel fade it??

Incredible results with some elbow grease. Unfortunately my wife has given me the chore of couch cleaning so I needed a tried and sure method. Most people say use a spray bottle, but I noticed using the tub was better for cleaning with cleaner water or solution. I am almost certain I have the identical sofa. Did you buy yours at Levitz Furniture? Mine is in desperate need of a cleaning, so I assume this method will be perfect for me. However, when I moved, I believe the movers spilled something on my sofa and it stained through one of the cushions. Any recommendations on cleaning the cushion foam? Also, since mine is 17 years old, the cushion seat foam has flattened a lot from use, especially compared to the love seat. Even though I had it cleaned professionally a few monthsego , it was starting to look a little dingy to me... So I tried your method and it was simply amazing... I can't thank you enough...
