Best Way to Clear a Food Plot in the Woods

When improving whitetail deer habitat, we look for the lowest hole in the bucket. In this case, we have plenty of browse but no open fields to build a lot of lush forest. This is the best way to clear a food plot in the woods.
So we made some fields using a forestry mulcher and heavy duty tiller. These food plots are strategically positioned to take advantage of low-impact entry and exit paths to hunt, relatively level slopes and good soils.
The tract will be much more easily hunted after we plant these fields.

Not to come at the comment section overly negative, but that isn't really "woods". That is light brush that is relatively easy to clear - not that much removed from CRP or grown up farmland. What about opening up timber in actual wooded areas where someone doesn't have the relative easy of just an overgrown section? I would be interested in a video on the best way to do that.

What size stumps can that forestry tiller handle?

Well it depends. If they're rotted then any size. Best to use the Stumpex on the big stumps first. It can handle sapling sized after grinding

That person will be glad he had you on the job. In 3-4 years he'll have nice bucks there. Lots of cover, lots of food, you build it and they will find it. All the neighboring deer will take up residence on his property.
