Welcome to the Weekend Homestead. A collection of videos about our Homestead Project. We live full time in a major city in the Midwest, but on the weekends we strive for a slower life, The Homestead Lifestyle. Come Along on the journey to our off grid Cabin in the North woods of Wisconsin.
What is the weekend Homestead?
The Weekend homestead will feature topics like Outdoor Cooking, Bee Keeping, DIY Projects, Dutch Oven Cooking, Machine Maintenance, Making Maple Syrup, Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Backwoods projects, Bushcraft, and land management using our Kubota Tractor.
Mrs W, myself, Lincoln and Cameron enjoy family time with outdoor activities that you can do to. Watch as we learn on this journey into the simple life. We are not experts, just a family raising our son to be an outdoor kid like we were when we were younger.
The weekend homestead, offering up the simple life, one weekend at a time.

Did this back in '13 and '14. Everyone thought I was crazy to use a "bobcat" to make trails. Ended up with 6 miles of trails using a mulcher. Everyone loves riding them now. Can't keep people off my land haha.

New to your channel. Very interesting stuff. I’m making and maintaining the same on my land and while I won’t be using that piece of equipment, you made made many other good points. I especially like the alternate dry trail idea. That was a light bulb moment.

Instead of numbering them 1, 2, 3, etc... Use 10, 20, 30, etc.... Then you can add a number 25 later easily, as needed.... and a number 27, etc, etc....

I like how you number your food plots and trails like highways. We are going to do that once our old logging trails are cleared out. Gotta rent one of these skid steers and forestry mulchers to get it done fast and easy. Thanks for explaining how your property is handled. What state are you in?
