I have a 15+ year old NF parka and I still have to layer up waiting 30 min for the bus in 20 degrees everyday and it’s a mission just to stuff everything into the locker at work, that being said I’ve read several reviews where the Canada Goose hardly needs any or no layer so I’m definitely thinking of investing in one.

Omar Hernandez The majority of The North Face jackets are not warm. Some of the Canada Goose jackets are very heavy, and not very warm as well, so you have to read the specs carefully.

You're paying for the brand. You can buy a North Face expedition Parka that's designed for the himalayas that will be way warmer, pack way smaller and have a life time warranty for a third of the price. North Face also has more stringent ethical down sourcing standards.

My Canada Goose parka just saved my life. I was stuck in a snowstorm and can’t get to our house bcoz the wind made a snow build up was over 6 feet tall and I cant see very well. I tried crawling but I had a panic attack and I blacked out. Then someone came and saw me huddled on our gone driveway where I tried to crawl my way to our house. I got helped but I was there outside for sometime, without my Mystique jacket worst could have happened to me bcoz I was only wearing a thin cardigan under it.

I have a moose knuckles jacket. Made with goode down and a coyote fur hood. But imo it's a WAY better jacket than Canaca goode. The zippers ste higher quality and so is the actual outside material. Also the jacket is cheaper than Canada goose by a couple hundred and it's still made in Canada.

I just got a North Face, it will literally keep me warm even if i went to the north Pole. It was slightly less than 400 dollar, definitely still pricey, nothing cheap about it but compared to CG i still saved more 1200. That's my monthly rent...it's all about status with CG and Moncler.

Back in 1982, a Canada Goose bomber jacket was selling in Toronto for $130. Way back Canada Goose was the best Winter jacket available at a higher but still reasonable price. Now Canada Goose has become a fashion statement, you do not really need to have the coyote hood trim if you are not living in the North Pole. If you have the money to burn and you like to wear the same jacket as your fellow passenger sitting next to you while taking the transit, by all means get one. A lot of people have the money to buy one but choose not to flow with the crowd. Anything making a fashion statement are usually over-priced. I buy Winter jackets from Eddie Bauer, North Face and Columbia, they are good enough for the weather and inexpensive. No one has yet wanted to rob me for my jacket so far and I feel safe and warm.

Canada Goose are made in Canada vs North Face mostly in China... It created job in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. The price are fair cause the labor are not cheap. Btw I don't own a Canada Goose and I will never own one, I just don't have the budget for.

@@MrMlbfan6 you have light and heavy parkas. It depends on the amount of insulation in the parka. I have a Uniqlo parka and it’s gets pretty cold if I wear it in 10 degree weather. Just look at the Canada goose website they have a temperature range for what each parka is suitable for.

Great video!! I have a Canada Goose Expedition Parka. Its a good parka. I also have a North Face McMurdo Parka. The McMurdo has kept me warm with layers underneath it in -14 F. North Face just released the McMurdo Expedition Parka for $650. The specs for this parka makes it look like it can be a good replacement for the Canada Goose Parka. Great video!

Here in Alaska its Canadian Goose, Helly Hanson, North Face, OR, Black Diamond, REAL FUR, because its actually cold here. I've also lived in North Dakota just under Winnepeg,I did not see Canadian Goose there. Duluth Trading makes an Alaskan Hardgear parka which to me is way to warm for anything above zero, but my idea of room temp is 58.

Fun fact not all of there down jackets have goose down, a lot of have duck down. That was surprising giving the reputation. There Wyndham parka for example has white duck down. At this point your paying for the name. There fill power is normally around 625 . Yes that’s warm with there jacket and parka rating at being warm in -14°F to -4°F with only a few of there down product made with white goose down. Like there heavy duty jack the snow manta parka being rated for -22°F and below but for that price you could get a o.s.c mission parka for the same price but it’s waterproof,made in Canada as well and is good up to -76°F . Your really paying for the name and that’s ok if that what your into. There are a lot of great jackets out there. Like mackage and northawaer. Or more Main Street like North face and Patagonia as well as arc’teryx. All worth checking out.

I have the Chilliwack and the Expedition Parka, but never had to use this service. I see people saying my Canada goose is just as good as ..... and I live in NY, North Dakota etc. I can vouch for my Canada Goose Resolute parka in the Canadian North working outside at temperatures of -58C. It is not a few year jacket it is a forever Jacket. If you are in construction you get a pickup. If you are going to the Artic you get a Canada Goose.

Canada Goose are very comfortable and very warm in extreme weather. And they are very well made as well. I would not say they are overpriced if you need them for cold weather and they will last for years. The problem is that they have become a status symbol craze like Rolex (great watches).

Ok, I'll play along. I say if you walk to work or wherever in winter, and if you are willing to sacrifice a few months' worth of eating out, then go for the CG. The reson is CG is made in Canada, and North Face, well, is made in a sweatshop. If you drive everywhere, then you don't need a super warm jacket. Also, I hate woke culture where people get offended on behalf of other people and they have to pick a fight no matter about what. In this case, about coyotes. I like how real fur looks and the ruff is actually useful. I live in Alberta and believe me, that ruff protects you mug agains the wind. I've had my face burned from the cold wind.

The best defense against the bitter cold is, stay indoors. Unless you are driving a sled powered by a team of dogs, you probably have the option of finding shelter when your less expensive Jacket is not quite capable of keeping you comfortably warm. For me give me an Eddie Bauer with 650 fill power for ~$300. If you are a tragic cold blooded reptile like person, get 2 and one really big BIG, so that you can wear 2 at a time.
