Google is the benchmark for speed tests and getting an average out of a ton of data is the best way to have an accurate gauge in my opinion. If you are referring to GT Metrix and Pingdom, they are not really accurate. 😊

@@JackCao It happens very often that a website gets a bad Google score but instead it loads very fast both on mobile and desktop.

Google PageSpeed Insights looks into the Global scale. It doesn't only look at one particular location. Your site may load fast in the US, but if you send me your link, it would probably take a long time to load. PageSpeed insights take that into account so I think it is a fair tool to use for a gauge on page speed.
