I don’t really collect albums from many other groups but I have to say that the packaging and interior for “BE” made me SO HAPPY. It feels like a perfect box filled with bits and pieces of all of their personalities. The fact that it also includes photo cards from all of the members is just so perfect and it seriously is the most “BTS” BTS album I’ve ever seen!

THE NCT ALBUM IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT GUYS. first, its like that so that it can be easier to take the pages out. you can remove the pages and use them as like posters or something thats why some of the pictures are sideways or one pic takes up two pages. second, theres way too many members to make a proper photobook anyways. but yeah LOL

I’m going to defend the ugliness of the 2020 album. The binding that was used allows the pages to lay flat and see the entire picture, and I don’t have to worry about bending the cover just to see it. It’s not cute but it serves it’s purpose. I agree that the cover not actually fully covering is super annoying and I noticed that the section that was supposed to cover the spine is too narrow for it so the front can’t fold over properly on the crease.

i hope this doesn't come off in any kind of way as rude, but Pledis did the same binding for Nu'est's The table album and in my personal opinion I like it a lot more than the NCT one. I feel like just leaving it as a book and not trying to put a plastic cover on it is a lot better than having a cover that doesn't fully close all the way. so if you would like to check out Nu'est's packaging for their The Table album, i promise it will make you appreciate that type of binding more. i at first didn't really like how the spine looked at first when i bought it but the album is so beautiful it's easy to look past.

for the nct 2020 pt 1, it has a lot of pages 200+ and each page is thick. those pages alone, cost a lot already. of course they have a lot of members so the pages are too many. And it was designed that way (the spine) so that we can totally flip and and see the photos properly cuz if not, we cannot fully open the pages... so its just understandable. if yall just get what im trying to say? hehe its hard to explain but yeah ^^

honestly all of txts albums are just ✨i m m a c u l a t e✨ like, feel free to disagree with me here, but the SONGS i know you werent exactly talking about tracklists in this video but im sure txt have no bad songs. they just have a song for every emotion youre going through and i really appreciate that 😌 second, the design !! like, again, all of their albums have such well-thought out designs?? like the minisode album, as you said in the video, it felt like they had already planned how they wanted the album designed so therefore the decorations like..fit the photoshoot? like all the stickers really complimented their outfits and fit reallt well with the concept they had. one of my favourite txt albums would probably be the dream: chapter eternity i got the purple version and like- yknow, the cover isnt that noticeable or eye-catching but the phOtobook !! dude im in LOVE similar to what i said for minisode, the extra drawings they created really just added to the vibe of the concept they had. i honestly was a bit confused as to why they had random scribbles throughout the photobook but i realised it helped complete the vibe lmao talking about dream chapter eternity again, i think the packaging couldve been better? like, its great and all, but i just cant be bothered to take the album out of the plastic bag it came in. its really cool how they added a key and you need to unlock it to open it, but im just too lazy for that- maybe im just bad at unlocking stuff but i s t r u g g l e 😭 i suppose i honestly could just throw out the plastic bag and display the album, but thatd cause two problems for me 1. i dont have a shelf so all of my albums are just sitting on my couch. 2. id lose the keys. but i suppose those two problems are really my fault- idk, even though the keys come in a mini package, i feel like id misplace them but to conclude this, i love every single one of txts albums. the songs, photobooks, occasionally the packaging and of course, the other things like photocards and postcards they give you. majority of their albums are really thought out, each album concept suits each of them so well, the styling is just superior. i really think i just love txt.

I literally am SO apprehensive of (G)i-dle's next album 😩 I hated the packaging of I Trust and Dumdi Dumdi, but I loved what they did for I Am and I Made. Why is it suddenly so difficult for Cube to put their stuff in a hard case (or at least something that we can put on a shelf) ? I mean, look at the way the cd was loosely put into that sleeve for I Trust, what the hell was that ? I really hope they come back to what they used to do, hard cases are a safe choice in my opinion.

i just want to share my opinion, for me, i think the best album this 2020 is TREASURE's album, the first step series chapters one, two and three. its a photobook style and the outer and inner design is hella pretty af. it also looks good when you put in a shelf, if you have all of the 6 albums from the series you can complete a diamond. plus in one album you can have four photocards and one postcard! yes uhuh yg is not greedy for papers lmao. and also, at first we thought a bookmark inclusion is useless but it is not! the designer of the album is so genius kekekek. the only problem is that the photocards have marks because of yg's packaging, they all put the inclusions in one page that's why but yg is kinda improving rn sooo.... and yeah check out TREASURE's album istg

Fyi for the nct resonance one the reason why there was like the fire hydrant is because its a cameo from fire truck, and also the pink horse situation was also a cemeo from chewing gum, the chairs were from turn back time. Um n the reason why its so like plain is cause there is legit 300 pages (looks like a dictionary) and also so that the members can you know sign it in a way that it wont cover their faces, also for the spin situation im pretty sure its so that when you open it its easier for them to pass around 23 people to sign and also the spin is also like that because the book is really thick and sm wanted nctzens to be able to customize each page and like rip em out to to become posterers, and also the fucking blank page is like so that nctzens can draw n customize it also si that they can sign it without signing it on their faces. Also i kinda think you should of worded some words a bit diff like "flop" or "dirty". And also the spin situation actually a lor of nctzens have been using to make the pages into posters cayse nct once did that with kick it album and nctzens wanted to do the same but like the albums before the one were really hard to rip so the spin was built that way

I’m a huge Monsta X stan so let me give my two cents on Monsta X’s packaging. From 2019 they’ve been doing pretty much the exact same packaging for all of their albums, I wouldn’t mind if it was good packaging but girl it’s just a book, just a photo book, that’s it. It’s the most basic and boring shit ever. It’s better than bag packaging, that’s for sure, but I miss when they would experiment with their albums more. My favorite Monsta X packaging, and maybe packaging in general, was DEFINITELY the “beautiful” album, it’s amazing in every single way. I’d love for them to go back to something similar someday!

I don’t know but NCT’s album looks like a dictionary. They shoulve put it like some box, for example the MOTS 7 album outbox, like put the NCT’s album inside so you can’t see the pages on the side because it looked so thick pages and look like a dictionary, I’m not sure if you get what i meant but yeah.

Enhypen album for me really is the best album of the year according to the design, the photobook (mostly version dawn), the outside, the size is perfect, and there’s 2 photocards which is rare for bighit, and the photocards are stunning

I kinda like the bag on everglows album. I don't put my albums on shelves, I don't have a lot so I just have mine on display at some random places in my room, but I get why people who put theirs on a shelf might hate it. Personally I like the shiny, glossy look it gives to the album. I do wish they titled it differently tho, I can easily tell you all of the album names ateez ever released but if you were to ask me the name of everglow's la di da album I'd say "something with a 9 in it". Talking about ateez, I think their zero: fever pt. 1 album was the prettiest with outside packaging. It was your average rectangular box that opens pretty smoothly, but there were 3 versions and there was this super pretty rainbow style color overlap kind of thing going on that looked beautiful on an individual album and on all of them combined. It also had this clear plastic sleeve with 3 stripes on there that gave it overall an even prettier look. Also I wanna mention ghost9s debut and 1st comeback albums, Door and W.all. The albums are black with a shiny green picture or purple picture on it, depending on which album you have, and there is room to connect both albums together which looks really pretty and that makes an image when the series is complete I guess? They both look really aesthetic overall. Also MCNDs earth age albums look really pretty if we're talking about exterior design, the cover is so pretty.. same goes for oneus lived.. I could go on all day about this omg what am I doing with my life

ngl skz go live, pentagon’s we:th, all ateez albums and svt’s semicolon were all my favs due to the sole fact that i could leave my loose pc, bookmarks, polaroids, knitting kits, etc in there without them falling out bc the packaging was designed to hold everything in place. also neozone “t” version was ✨chefs kiss✨

imo txt's album packaging (+ the songs and concepts too ofc ) are very nice, it's very cute and creative tdc:e was the best for me it looks like a diary. next tdc:m i like the texture of the album and it glows in the dark! idk i personally think it's very unique. the concepts are amazing i love how they're so versatile they literally went from cute soft concept like crown to dark concept and outfit in puma to a vry cute pastel video game concept in blue hour ♡

Gurl I have so many opinions about Map of the Soul 7. I think the packaging is pretty good, I prefer box/book like packaging however the newspaper/photobook ain't it. I use photobooks for reference with art and I can't even use the one for this album (I also slid it out instead of opening the sticker). The BE album though 🙌 simple but effective Blackpink The Album: I have the same one! Only complaint is that it's wide but thats just a preference. Also the photobook and photocards 👍 TXT albums this year was pretty much quality. I have the eternity and blue hour, both with very unique packaging and pretty unique but simple. Concepts for the photoshoot was well done also. Honorable mentions that are not in this video Gfriend Walpurgis Night was also very intriguing as an album. Its a portfolio format and the photobook can be taken out separate from the portfolio. I also got a signed polaroid and the concept was retro, and retro is my favorite concept. ACE butterfly fantasy might be more of a preference thing however it is the same size as their previous album and has this traditional concept that looks so aesthetic. Kind of in a magazine format but sturdy Enhyphen's is similar to TXT's blue hour however is a lot larger, but not bothersome like Map of the Soul 7. That's all, I have one more album from 2020 arriving later in the month and it might be added to this list, or not.
