Gen is probably one of the hardest characters to play with in all fighting games, watching Xian wreck his opponents because he is fully mastered with gen is just wonderful.

@@gilmarmirandadossantos6009 As a gen player there are many characters much harder than Gen, even in SFIV. It takes way more execution to play viper, fuerte, ibuki effectively. I'm not saying Gen was easy mind you, but he wasn't as technical as people think he was.

watch sf4 games now i realize how good players back then were with that kind of insane reaction. now in sf5 there's alot of frame traps and low risk rush down with less skills involved compared to sf4.

I mean it's not like Sf4 is perfect. At 1:29 Gen does so many safe jumps; that's far less risky offense than SFV frame traps (especially since they added v shift). With all the hard knockdowns in SF4, vortex characters like Ibuki and Akuma could turn the game into a single player match - loopable, safe offense without any resources required

@@Eman-vp6ju Yeah that's what I don't understand about people talking about sf4. So many people say that Sf4 was the skillful game, yet I only remember sf4 for the vortexes, option selects and safe high dmg moves like Rose Ultra 2 or straight up cancer like Elena Ultra 2. People are so blinded by nostalgia for sf4 that they refuse to give sfv some props. No amount of option selects, safe invincible reversals or vortexing is gonna save you from taking this mix up like a good little fgc member.

It's funny that I'm not a big fighting games fan and when my then-gf asked me if I can teach and play with her when we meet at the mall, I ended up maining GEN and from then on, I ended up learning and mastering his moves. Up until now, just like muscle memory, I can do Gen combos. Thanks to her, Gen has become part of me now.
