Best Xiegu G90 Firmware Update 2023?

3:07 When I used FLrig for the first time with JS8Call and for FT8 I noticed I wasn’t receiving anything and my transmitting was zero watts. Then I noticed the U-D mode when I changed it on the radio and all of a sudden it works. So it works with FLRig. The app will still say USB on the computer. You just have to manually tune the radio to the new mode. It’s been working great.

Thanks, I think I will stick to 1.78 as well. Don't forget the 1st number in the signal report :) You could go from 59 at 20 Watts to a 37 at 5 Watts depending on the receiving station's noise floor.

CTSS and the like are not used in HF. Typically used on FM above 30 mhz.

Wondering about repairs on these units,, do you get complete service manual and parts list and where do you send it off for repairs when it fails? Do they have a US service center? Do0 myou get detailed schematics with it?

I’m not sure other than maybe sending it to radioddity where I bought it and there is probably detailed schematics somewhere

Josh, I updated to 1.79 and noticed you could no longer select a 1-10 for the filter/waterfall display. Did you notice this? It is set on Scale/Auto and you can not adjust. I emailed Radioddity to confirm and they did reply with v1.79 that feature was changed. I may reinstall to v1.78 in order to have this option back. Curious if you had also seen this when you upgraded to v1.79.

@@joshhayes9570 Here is a summary of the changes with v1.79 - FFT SCALE option if fixed to AUTO. I'd really like to know why they did this? It states it optimized the FFT automatic level algorithm, the visual effect is smoother? Guess they know what is best? Changes: Improved the AGC algorithm. Improved the Filter’s algorithms. New data mode: U-D; L-D, for USB DIG; LSB DIG. In data mode: ACC port LINE IN is connected to the modulator (hand mic is muted); LINE OUT is enable. The band-pass filter is changed to enable two BPFs combination per mode. Adjusted the bandpass filter operation logic. Adjusted the operation logic of the secondary menu. Press the FUNC key in the secondary menu without saving and exit. FFT SCALE option is fixed to AUTO. Optimized the FFT automatic level algorithm, the visual effect is smoother.
