Am I the only one that can actually smell the fresh cards as he opens the packs? I miss playing Yugi-oh. I was once 12th in the US. But the game just got too crazy and started having too many packs come out and too many banned cards for tourney lists. I still have my original cyber stein from regional though :)

I got banned from a tournament, locally, when I used to play Yu-gi-oh. I went to a tournament with legal cards and destroyed everyone because my deck was extremely well established and could prevent non-dragons from doing anything while I got my power cards by turn 2 if I got lucky. I do believe most of my cards came from this set (or at least I got most of the cards in the set when I was a child). They had a bitch fit about using old cards in the new format, which again I looked up to make sure that was ok before going, and they apparently agreed. They didn't want old gen beating new gen. I at least got my entrance fee back. I believe they got so butthurt because I got into a debate about how good old cards are. They said they were useless and I kept saying they were wrong. They actually told me to come and prove it. Dusted my collection off and beat everyone. The comic book owner DQ'd me saying I couldn't use old gen, despite all the cards being tournament legal in all formats (yu-gi-oh isn't as bad as MTG with banned cards in standard) and the website saying they used the format I researched before going. Sorry for the ramble but these cards remind me of a really funny time in my life. I wasn't even mad I was having the time of my life when I got DQ'd.

so this is a lie... not becasue u said u beat new caards with old ones but because u were DQd for it...let me tell u what happens when ur DQd from a sancioned tournemnt u have to report it to konami if they dont like the reason ( the one u gave would qualify in the they dont like it category) they would lose their yugioh certification which btw is a bitch to get to start with..so no this didnt happen becasue no store is stupid enough to DQ a paying customer for a reason that u cant even DQ someone for and then lose their certification...and also in case u wonder how does this person know this .. i am a certified yugioh judge i know

Man, I love this set. I just got into Yu-Gi-Oh about a year ago, but I feel like my Blue-Eyes obsession was just meant to be. I pull a Blue-Eyes from a random pack, so I decide to get the structure deck value box (which came with a Blue-Eyes in it), and I pull an original artwork Blue-Eyes from one of these packs inside. Kevin Toma you don't need a meta deck to play the game, as long as you build your deck correctly an old school deck can rip apart a meta deck like it was nothing. I do it all the time with people who use meta decks.

Lol the good old days before 5D's and zexal came and Konami took over U.S. Operations involving yu-gi-oh. I remember when monarchs were all the rage, better yet I remember when yu-gi-oh first came out in the U.S. and the starter decks were like $40-$60! lol. A message to whomever was the perpetrator who stole my life collection of yu-gi-oh cards at regionals: Thank you for stealing my cards, it was because of that event that I am on the road of becoming a success. There's a lot but the basics are: Secret rare- Has a mosaic glitter on the lettering and image Ultimate- Embassed image and stars with gold lettering Ultra-Gold lettering and holo image Super- Regular lettering and holo image Rare-Silver lettering non- holo Common- Regular lettering non-holo There's other stuff like Parallel rare and Ghost rare but I don't make it too complicated.

i think that comes with age, not with the franchise changing, these deck boxes have been around since the beginning of yugioh series, the reason cards were harder to find back in the day were because as kids people didnt have access to these things, or just being able to buy online, we had to beg our moms for a booster pack every once in a while XD
