That dog and the famous Avery's Wolf were icons of him. What I always liked more was when any of them appeared with our dear Droopy. God, those episodes were...I can not describe them, XD. Tex Avery should have worked with on Looney Toons, but apparently he was too talented

Actually he was at Warner Bros the studio that at the time distributed the Looney Tunes shorts but he and producer Leon Schlesinger had a falling out over a gag in The Heckling Hare and Leon not letting him to his live action animal talking shorts and was ultimately fired. After an brief period at Paramount with said shorts but soon left he arrived at MGM.
