The idea of a small flipper is cool, and this is obviously done well, but the over-the-top anodized execution that some Chinese manufacturers insist on isn't for everyone. Shiny, lurid, bauble. Thanks for the intro.

That little knife is so pretty I could never bring myself to put it to hard work. But I want it nonetheless. A LOT.

If you like small, the new Hogue X1-Microflip looks pretty neat.

I'd spotted this one a little while back, then I saw the size! While I love small knives, this is a bit tiny for most of my purposes. Still, it's quite attractive and like you said, probably great in an office environment. I've found that _small colorful knives_ don't threaten people, while gray or black ones do regardless of size. So I see their reasoning behind this. They just released a BT1706 model which definitely interests me, looks very Reate or Kevin John "Venom" like. I'd like to know who they OEM'd for before releasing their own models.

This is the 1705, a modern day gents folder. Has all the hallmarks of a gents knife, under 3 inches high quality blade, light weight 3 ounces or less designed for light to medium cutting tasks. My current favorite gents folder is the Italian made slip joint Fantoni Dweller with 2.5 inch Sanvick 19C27 mod wharncliffe blade in Cocobolo handle scales ($125) based off Loveless Lone Wolf City knife. I had considered this 1705 from BladeHQ and decided to try my first Massdrop purchase instead... The Ferrum Forge designed, WE knifes manufactured Gent S35VN pocket knife with titanium frame, G10 inserts, deep pocket clip for $80. Might still purchade the 1705 in the future for my son who likes blue and likes flippers. If someone wants a feel for these gents 2.25-2.5 size blade knifes without spending $100+ consider the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 VG-10 for around $50-$60.

Bestech has Me quite intrigued. Very nifty little dealy-o. I just wish they had a wider array of color schemes... What is it, comparable to the size of a Boker Plus A2 mini ?

How did you get your hands on the silver handle with blue-green pivot? I’m trying to get this exact same one, but they’re all gold pivoted.

Thanks for the review on a knife from an up and coming Chinese company. I like the knife and might pull the trigger on one. I just got a Spyderco Chaparral and this little guy might be a bit smaller and definitely lighter. My smallest and lightest Gentleman's knife so far is a William Henry E6 at 1.1 ounces. I like smaller knives.

Sounds exactly like my experience of my purchase of the Rike Thor 4s integral.... is was $300, though...no regrets, however.

Do you still have the bestech mini flipper? And if so would you be interested in selling it? Thanks

I like it but it's almost $200 in Canada

I'd rather pay 100.00 for this knife than pay 114.00 for that flimsy Benchmade Bugout....awesome video
@Adam-rw4xk7 жыл бұрын
If you break a Bugout's handle you needed a pry bar not a backpacker's knife.
@stoutdog566 жыл бұрын
Good choices, but not a fair comparison. There are completely different design objectives for each knife. They are both lightweight EDC knives and that's where the similarities end. I wouldn't call the Bugout flimsy either, however I chose the Grizzly Ridge over the Bugout for its rugged build. I think you might be happy with either knife. The Bugout is still on my wish list.

I'm not being a smart ass but I always look at closed length. For some reason that tells me all I need to know.
@semajin7 жыл бұрын
Steve Welborn yeah length gives you an idea, but you really don't know how wide or anything until you have it in hand.

Too much for a tiny Chinese knife, too much color. Looks well put together, though. I was thinking $50, tops.
