I'm a Malaysian where I can get top notch durians but I've been to Davao and had a roadside durian. I can tell you it's one of my favourite durian. Davao durians are very underrated. Not to mention the price is 1/5 of the premium durians in Malaysia

I grew up here in the States and one of my most closest friends i met along the way and still keep in touch with is Filipino and her parents moved here to the States from The Philippines and i LOVE them and their culture. They have given me such a love for rice and the simples of life!!! Family is HUGE to them and i always loved that, always so welcoming. I was basically an adopted daughter of theirs with how much i was over. It is a place i am always so curious about!!!!

My father supervised construction work in a secluded jungle area of Mindanao many years ago. When the project was completed and my parents were preparing to leave the island and return to the US they were shocked to see several workers smiling and pointing to a large crocodile that they had tied to the roof of my parent's jeep. My mother became frantic and although the crocodile was meant to be a parting gift my father thanked the workers and asked that they remove the crocodile. LOL!

So? Did people get TIRED of Durian ice cream? I haven't really been in a hurry to visit the Philippines, but this latest series is changing my mind. I've only been able to try a little bit of PH food, but it's all been good, and the people seem unbelievably upbeat. Going to a little Philippine restaurant is something like a party every time. These open markets are hard to believe, the idea that you could just wander around for a few hours, and really try a bunch of things for five bucks sounds like it would never get old!

At the end of the day, hungry and poor people do not pick and choose what they eat. They eat what's available, whether it be nuts, greens, fruit or meat.

Love the video:) everyone told me not to go to Mindanao because it was dangerous. I was stubborn and went anyway. I loved it so much I moved here at the beginning of the year. I love being able to wander divisoria (town centre) and try a different meal everyday for about a dollar. There's so many unique flavours here alongside many unique and wonderful people. Don't be scared to visit the big cities down here everyone needs to visit more

You still have to experience the Flavors of Iloilo. Try the Adobong Illongo, KBL, Pancit Molo, Relyenong Bangus, Garlic Native Chicken & Batchoy. Also make sure to try the baked goods, the butterscotch assortment, the barquillos, piyaya etc. When you get at the center of Iloilo, you will see a lot of malls packed together, they also have some bizarre restaurants. You can go to the Island of Guimaras as well, there you can get the sweetest mangoes in the world.

Mindanaons english accent are often the laugh stock of the people from Luzon. They always make fun or our "hard" english. I experienced alot of this during my review in manila.
