It is all things, the processes of all life. One such process is human creativity, and one such act of creativity is the use of chemicals and preservatives in food. We are not distinct from nature. I would absolutely try it though. I don’t plan in staying in my comfort zone when it comes to anything in my life, so it seems like a place worth putting on my bucket list. 😝

After watching videos from this channel for sometime already, probably what I appreciate the most with Sonny is that he's very perceptive of other cultures and quite respectful as well. I completely understand when Westerners (and even some locals) get disgusted of outlandish traditional food and don't see what's the deal, but I have huge respect for those who go beyond that.

It's funny because you get people like that everywhere. I love to try new things but my wife sticks to her usuals. Same could be said about my coworkers and friends. Some love a new experience. When I am a child I ate all of these bugs. However, at that time, these dishes were the main dish, not a drink, and back then, there was little fat and oil, so there was only salty stew with salt and fish sauce. Grilled spider is the best, hot pot spider is difficult to eat because it still has hair. Eating a lot of cicadas is easy to get asthma, eating worms that do not clean the intestines can poison cassava leaves (the vegetable that the above pupa eats).

@@heheh92 If you don't clean out the worms properly or "flush:" them (basically feed them clean food for a few days until all the bad food is completely out of their system) they can be poisonous, that's because they mainly eat cassava leaves which are poisonous to people.

The host also doesn't believe that COVID could have been a zoonotically-transmitted disease and blocks people for suggesting this as a hypothesis that should be researched with as much rigor as the lab leak hypothesis which he expounds.
@laughter953 жыл бұрын
@HahThatsWhatSheSaid "I'm so glad they're now investigatimg (sic) the real source of corona-19 so brain dead guys like this can stop with these comments" He was referring to a screenshot of a comment left on one of his videos: "Main reason of coronavirus is to eat bizarre insects and animals." Then wrote: "No Arfath, eating bugs doesn't create or spread COVID. Nice try tho. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself." From his IG story from 7H ago: instagram.com/stories/besteverfoodreviewshow/2585080324665705649 I messaged, "Zoonotically transmitted disease is a real thing. And it appears currently there's more evidence supporting this hypothesis than the lab leak hypothesis. But all the hypotheses should be researched thoroughly." I personally don't care which way they conclude. I'd like to know what happened so we all can prepare better going forward. Maybe Sonny doesn't like the zoonotic transmission hypothesis because of his line of work. Or his US center-right political orientation has him disbelieving the zoonotic transmission hypothesis (he follows Dan Crenshaw, his comments re: victimhood). I have no issues with his political preferences. But if he's dismissing the zoonotic transmission hypothesis because of a subsect of US right-wing politics, then I don't agree with politicising science/COVID (from the right or left). Or was it that he was only dismissing the commenter on consumption of insects, and not "bizarre animals"? Then I'd say re-read the first part of Sonny's written comment, which implies that he doesn't believe that the coronavirus could have originated from a zoonotic source.
