The guitar riff was made by Mike. Kanami said that "I wouldn't have come up with this riff by myself." Miku wrote the lyrics. "Years from now I'll still be doing this with you"...may the force be with Maids, PO!🕊💕

Small note: Mike E. and Kanami/B-M co-wrote the music. Miku wrote the lyrics and, yes, they seem to be inspired by the friendships within the band. The white wardrobe is just for this video; Saiki has commented on it. The set is almost identical to the one they used for their recent acoustic show in Tokyo. Also, both Saiki and Kanami have dropped hints about their forthcoming album: "Intense songs," "heavy," "difficult drums," and "poor Akane," have come up. Should be fun.

Band Maid supported Incubus at Tokyo Garden Theatre a few days ago and Bestie got it's debut with Mike Einziger joining them for it, he rocked with Kanami.

The perfect song for a summer drive for sure! 😎🤘 The Maids opened for Incubus in Japan, and Mike E played with them on the premiere of this song - should be easy to find on YT. Fun to watch!

[Bestie, co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus.] MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! Miku’s English lyrics (I bet with Saiki and Mikey-chan's influence) are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Like ApexRadius said - Mike E. and Kanami/BM co-wrote the music w/Miku writing the lyrics. Thank you, as always, for reacting to these magnificent five + 1 ('Mikey'). I believe you are right; the lyrics are reflecting the gals' friendship with each other.

The so-called instrumental version is completely unofficial (I believe the channel it's posted on is a second channel of AntMusic, a guy I personally don't care for). Yes, it's one of those cases where the stems are isolated by AI and if you're not Peter Jackson, you're probably not getting it right. I love the original version (I believe Mike came up with the basic riff and the melody, with Kanami, MISA, and Akane filling it out). Miku wrote the lyrics and yes, they are almost certainly about her band mates. Unlike most Band-Maid songs, I don't think this one really works as an instrumental because it doesn't have that usual hidden complexity that Kanami usually composes. As it is, it's a great song that definitely grows on you.
