How awesome would a petting zoo, baby dinos, and a dinosaur hunt be! For the price of the Dino plus 50 grand someone could hunt a Dino. Imagine going on a raptor hunt. I find the argument that “feathered dinosaurs don’t look scary” funny. A leopard doesn’t look scary either-until it charges you and rips the skin off your bones. It’s not always an animal’s looks that make them scary, it’s their behaviour. Similarly a scary-looking animal can be completely harmless, like certain species of spider. I’m sure we’d find a raptor scary when we see it chase and violently rip somebody apart, feathers or not. But if you want an animal that also looks scary then you might as well go a step further and mutate it into something like the indoraptor; throw realism out the window entirely instead of just stripping the animal naked.

Once we started learning that a lot of dinosaurs in fact had feathers, I now think it looks really weird when they don't in reproductions whether it's movies, animations or video games. W When I see Jurassic Park today, I actually think the raptors look naked and weird. Also, they are way to big to be velociraptors. I hope Prehistoric Kingdom will have as realistic dinosaurs as possible, based on the latest science. JWE has the excuse that it's based on movies where they specifically engineered the dinosaurs to look like that. They are park monsters. But the more we learn about these amazing creatures, the more amazing they become in my opinion. In my mind, dinosaurs have turned from slow lumbering brown reptiles to fast and scary giant birds with different patterns. Look at a modern day hawk or eagle and tell me those things wouldn't be scary if they were half a ton, had teeth instead of a beak and was running around the forest looking for food.
@TheKeyser943 жыл бұрын
Actually originally they would be called Deinonychus like in the book, but Spielberg changed to Velociraptor because they trough that the audience was to dumb. I think that was more a decision of Universal than Frontier Development, because the rest of the dinosaurs are more and less accurate, at least Evolution is mod friendly, even that the engine have some limitations, because you cant make the Spinosaurus a quadruple like and change the AI to make him swim in lakes, maybe you can do that in the next game, when they allow aquatic animals, as for the Velociraptor I put them feathers but I didn't change their aspect to make them more realistic, because as Doctor Wu says non of this animals are realistic, all are a mesh of different animals, even the Mosasaurus is way exaggerated, three times more larger than the real Mosasaurus.

@@cintronproductions9430 Most reptiles (which also includes birds) can see UV light so there's a good chance that pterosaurs do as well. After seeing Prehistoric World, the Velociraptor model is airily very accurate to this mod, specially the more avian one, is almost like the producers have played the game with this mod and copy the exact design. Why Part 2 is taking so long? I known that Jurassic World Evolution 2 come out, but cant mod in their engine as easily as the first one, I believe that is a sabotage by Universal because they not want to "taint" their brand, even if their brand is outdated and shit.

When Jurassic World come out there was some backlash for the Dino community because they trough after the last twenty years of advances in Palaeontology, they would make the Raptors and the other dinosaurs more realistic, but instead of that, they release the old dinosaurs only with colours now, hell, even Jurassic Park III was more realistic than Jurassic World, but this is Spielberg fault if he didn't changed the Deinonychus for the Velociraptors, this wouldn't have happen.

@@isthatbraised Yeah, but he sanitise Hammond that was the actual antagonist of the book, changed the Deinonychus for the Velociraptor because he trough that the audience was dumb, and totally did a character assassination of Dennis Nedry, even that he was arrogant, the only thing that Nedry wanted was revenge against Hammond, because he was making work like a slave without pay, by blackmailing him, hell, he didn't even wanted the dinosaurs to escape, but in his desperation and hubris, he failed to put a fail safe in his program to reboot the computer after a certain time, in the end, Nedry and Hammond end being killed by dinosaurs, Hammond is very ironic, seeing how breed a miniature elephant, and he was killed by a group of Cognys. And let not forget that Spielberg have two different visions of how the dinosaurs should be, Winston wanted to be as realistic as possible, at least at the time, Spielberg viewed the dinosaurs as giant monsters, not animals.
@isthatbraised2 жыл бұрын
@@TheKeyser94 First, I believe the compromises were necessary for the 2 hours of run time the film had. I really dont see them as anything bad, even compared to the film, hell I might even prefer the film Hammond because we see his perspective and plans for the park aswell as his final decision to put family first, despite being an eccentric millionaire. I also like Dennis Nedry in the film, however short his scenes may have been. He represented the dangers and liabilities that come with something as ambitious as Hammonds idea, aswell as how that led to his demise. Also, Spielberg wasn't the only who worked on the movie, Dean Cundy's cinematography, Stan Winston's designs and robotics, ILM's cgi, Micheal Crichton's script and original book and etc, all played a part in the creation of Jurassic park. Not to mention the first scene of a dinosaur isnt even of a scary monster, it's a beautifully presented Brachiosaurus showing it in its natural environment. Actually almost none of the dinosaurs are presented as scary because of their monstrous appearances, instead it's their indifference to man that is the reason why they are scary
@TheKeyser942 жыл бұрын
@@isthatbraised But it was really necessary to change Hammond from an greedy ass-hole to eccentric billionaire? It was really necessary change the Deinonychus for the Velociraptor?
