Instant Pot Pro Review and Demo

There is also the Pro Plus which is wifi enabled. Connect to the Instant Brand connects app and you can start cooking with your phone. This Instant Pro is 6 qts, it’s also available in 8 qts. The unit measures inches 12.8 in height 13 inches in length and 12.7 inches in width. The inner pot is stainless steel and has silicone handles. It has a flat bottom and you can cook in this pot on the stove top, it’s also oven safe to 450 F. Electric, Ceramic, gas or induction. There are fill line markings so make sure to follow them. Don’t go over Max fill line. Half fill line rice beans foods that expand while cooking. Of course do not put the outer pot on the stove top. The outer pot has a stainless steel exterior, handles, the heating element is on the bottom, always wipe the bottom of the inner pot so it’s dry before putting in here. There’s a lid holder which is convenient and saves space, you don’t have to look for a place on your counter to put that hot lid. The power cord is 32 inches long and the cord holder. The condensation collector is in the back and will have some liquid in it after cooking. It collects liquid that flows from the condensation rim. A steam rack is included as well as an extra sealing ring. Sealing rings pick up the smell of whatever you’re cooking so you can use one for cooking and one for baking if you like. They will wear out over time so it’s nice to have two.

Excellent tutorial. And the machine comes across as carefully engineered to produce the best tasting food, as opposed to the quickest and easiest. Not being an expert cook, I know I’ve got some learning to do. But on the other hand, the guesswork is mostly taken out of the cooking process , and the machine anticipates what you might overlook. My hope is to impress family and friends with truly delicious home cooking that would otherwise take years of practice to get really good at, and and much of the technology is geared toward reducing the likelihood of my totally screwing up a detailed recipe. At the same time, the control over all aspects of cooking means that as you gain expertise, the machine will not hold you back from developing the intuition to cook things YOUR way. To me it seems a machine you can grow into, and that will stay with you as your intuition develops and you become eager to try new and exotic recipes, rather than be intimidated from trying them. To bring out of this machine's (and my) full potential, I live near a large market garden and intend to buy all my produce, spices and herbs fresh, and not to cut corners. It's going to take some practice, but from this clearly explained demo I am confident that no part of this appliance will be beyond my ability to master it. Thank you for taking the time to think through the details that I am too new to be curious about -- but soon will be!

You do list the ingredients for the curried chicken legs in the video but, for the whole chicken, you only say that you season inside and out. What seasonings do you use? Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for this intro! I just got my Pro, did water test, then after a week of hesitating ))) cooked a vegetable soup. 3min and natural release. Was a bit overcooked!! Unbelievable. I love your recipes and how calm and to the point you are - subscribed prior to getting IP while researching. I hope to try your recipes soon! Could you please make a video about a principle of adjusting a normal recipe or a general pressure cooker recipe for IP? Also I have seen that some people cook rice or barley overnight on slow cook and say that it is very tasty. Would you recommend cooking it this way?

While being in the "Yogurt" or Keep Warm" setting, can you adjust the temperature "manually" on these once you are within "Custom" setting, (to 100F, 105F, 110F, etc). Please note that I’m not referring to just “Low”, “Medium”, “High”, etc, where those settings already come with their own pre-set temperatures, etc. Some of these pots allow it and some don't that's why I'm asking. (Please confirm if the only models that allow manual custom temperature changes are: “I.P Pro”, “Duo Evo Plus” and “Ultra”, but I’m not too sure that’s why I’m asking a pro like yourself :). Thank you very much for posting this informative video!

Last month I bought pro to make L. Reuteri yogurt. Set the temperature 100F for 36 hours. After 12 hours checked the temperature of pot with another temperature gauge. It was 109. Can someone help me why there is much difference?
