Bet You've Never Seen These Before. Rare Pre 1910 Relics and Bottles | Dump Digging Sudbury Ontario

Do we have a video for you this week! Special guest Willy and I are out digging a forgotten community dump dating from around 1900-1910 in Sudbury Ontraio!
On this adventure we found some rare and amazing relics and bottles! I bet you've never seen anything like them before, because we hadn't!

Indeed! I think that shoe is a candidate for find of the year, easily! Doubt many of thoughs still exist, if any 😄😄 But that T&P is a close second for sure!

The round bottle is a Chianti wine bottle. Used to come in a straw basket known as a fiasco. Thanks for a fun dig! Except the blackflies.

Hello Adam & friends, this was a awesome video to watch and you had so many nice finds. Love the rare OWEN Sound soda you found ! Nice to see Willey pull out some nice bottles and of course those Gin bottles, ,LOL! The May flies are bad here in our town to, sucks! My son Lew and I hope to dig soon and after my health improves from being ill with my bad knee. It needs to be replaced. 😞 I should be okay though. Thanks! Ya this site had some awesome treasures to be uncovered! Definitely very pleased with the T&P bottle, great to finally have one 😄 And for sure not a northern dig without a case gin 😄😄 The heat is killing off a few of the black flys now around here, but the mosquitoes are starting now too. Awesome finds crew! I hate those black flys/breath Flys more than skeeters! It gets worst after you drink one beer back there.

They get into the smallest of cracks and go for your eyes ears and nose. They are just the worst to deal with!

I had an unexpected find recently, an original Polio Vaccine Vial Bottle with original pamphlet, and Box in mint condition. The bottle is still sealed. Having trouble finding a value for it, unfortunately. It's most likely a limited group of potential buyers. Possibly a museum may be interested. I put it on eBay a couple days ago. We'll see what happens.

Thats definitely an interesting item. Smaller intrest group for sure id imagine too. Couldn't tell you a value on somthing like that.

Love your videos. Keep them coming. I spent a good part of my summers in Marten River, south part of Temagami district so I relate to the area your in totally. Ever find any Temagami Dry bottles and if so are you willing to part with one?

All around the north the bugs are just crazy indeed! And Ive dug a few Temagami Dry bottles I also have a paper labeled quart as well. I only have one of each size in good shape, non or for sale atm though 😄

Bubble /wicker bott likely had chianti Italian wine in it..popular for years ..in the 1960s people would put candles in the emptys indeed restaurants had them on tables for candle lit dinners

Interesting! And I think now that you mention it Ive seen candles in some before in my travels! And ive seen the newer styles in 50s-60s dumps as well!

"It's been underground for so long that it hasn't had the chance to turn". What does that mean, exactly? The sunlight hits it, and it turns purple? Why wasn't it purple underground too?

Uv light causes the manganese in the glass to turn it purple

Like Chris mentioned. If the dirt covers them up really fast, the sun doesn't have time to react with the glass and turn them purple. The sun is what gives turns them from a yellow-ish glass to purple 😄
