Morgan separate the electrical mapp switch connector and the little clear tube under the blue piece and it stays with the tank when removed. Also needs a inline check in the caps vent since the green thing under that cap has been removed or fell into tank like they all do. Yamaha 3XJ-24380-00 check put into the caps overflow hose works very well. Another often overlooked maintenance item is to lay bike over on the throttle side, remove ignition cover, put 2 cc of gbx oil into the cavity for the starter gear, probably a couple times a season. Many of us shorten the petcock tube so runs more on the ON circuit before the RES.

Oh kyb shock for 23 hmm? One of my riding buddies got a 22 300. He likes it after not liking a few other bikes. He was nervous about the rake, head angle, trail? Idk something that has to do with the handling. Apparently it's different but still good. Any thoughts? Going to watch the ride video next.

Hey, when I was in Italy last year, prior to buying my 2023 200rr, they told me the steering lock is a "Kid proof" lock to allow it to be locked, so it can't be ridden without a key. Explained to me it's a "Safety" requirement for most countries.

Front wheel on the 200 fits a KTM with spacer swap. Ran Beta's for awhile and the aftermarket was even worse a few years ago so it was a game of what can I make fit off a KTM.

I have the the 2021 beta 200racing!best modification by far is changing the seat cover to the 1 gripper cover.the beta seat cover is terrible when wet and muddy !

The clutch slave on the Beta 300 is on the stator side like the Ktm. Maybe that style is just on the 200.

My only complaint about the with my 200 after one year of ownership is the shock can get over heated when pounding desert single track. I’m sure that bladder you added will help with that. I wish fmf would come out with a factory pipe for it. Other than that I love it! I raced 5 times in the webe series with zero issues👍🏽

The clutch works really well but it is exposed. I broke the bleeder nipple on a trail in the rocks that ended up damaging the case threads. Had to buy new case cover but the slave cylinder easily comes out of the case for rebuild or to transfer over. Wolf carbon in Europe sells a case cover that protects the banjo bolt and bleeder that is worth the money.

Okay...you mentioned a problem with the 23 KTM having chipped reeds from the factory. Would that cause it to "cough" when I shut it off? I talked to a mechanic buddy and he mentioned it might be reeds. Wanted your opinion also. Calling dealer tomorrow.

It could maybe. Mine does that also every now and then but it runs perfectly. This gentleman’s bike didn’t run well.

Got to say I really like having the steering lock on my Betas. I can park it in front of a buddies house or run into a store or trail head bathroom and have a bit more piece of mind someone's not going to be able to just jump on and take off on it.

Yup, saved my bike from getting nicked while in a saloon. Front parking was full of side by sides so had to park our bikes across the street in a dirt lot (about 25 bikes total were parked there), but it was the only 2 stroke. Heard it fire up and when we ran across the street I found it laying on its side running and a 4 person side by side taking off wide open down the road behind it. I didn’t have my helmet on so couldn’t chase em

FYI, you can remove just the turn signal switch with 1 screw, it slides off the main switch pod…I agree with the slippery footpegs, and the chain guide looks like the stock one. I took off the blue tank shroud thing and 3m double sided taped the map switch to the frame (makes taking the tank off easier.🤘

I did the same on my 200. I even removed the rear tail light and black grab handle. Beta makes a race wire harness that removes most of all those street bike wires.

Curious I had a 2018 xtrainer absolutely loved the bottom end grunt and trials feel. How does the 200 feel on the bottom? Friend of mine did a test ride and said that below 3k rpm it didn’t have hardly anything but then it screamed once you opened it up. Was wondering if that holds true on your end or if the 200 my friend road wasn’t jetted very well. Thanks.

Probably wasn’t jetted great but this bike also has the RK Tek head which helps low end. This one grunts great

Seems Beta have good components (reeds, forks, fmf). But KTM have a big r&d /development which results in a refined bike.... It'll be great to hear your thoughts on how it rides. Great vids Morgan!

Switched to beta in 2016 and won’t be going back to another brand. You can get the starter motor out of a 250 and 300, don’t know about the 200, but would assume so; these bikes are well engineered for maintenance access

BRP makes a chain guide and the FMF pipe and silencer from the previous gen 300 xc will fit the new 2023 300 xc

Beta's are sweet! Their dual sports are really nice and reasonably priced. I wish they were more available. If Beta could break into the AMA it would really help them sell their consumer bikes.

I’m sure you will address in a ride video on how well the low end grunts. And also the vibration I hear is quite bad at least on the 300 I’ve been debating on husky 300 tx or beta 300 race for my new bike and the vibration worries me, but it’s so pretty. 😂

Morgan, the reason for the extra switch gear, horn, t-stat, and lock on the steering stem, is that this same bike is sold as street legal in other countries. Also on my 18 300 Race Edition it came with the TPS on the carb, even though it doesn't do anything, wonder if the owner just removed it .

You can get them street legal here in parts of Canada as well. Been looking at a 300RR race edition street legal. It converted by the dealer with all factory parts I believe .

I noticed I had the only two stroke so 30 min into a couple cold ones when I heard a two stroke fire up from inside, I ran out and across the street to the dirt lot and my bike was on on the ground running. If you don’t know this town is out in the CA desert and is popular watering hole/waypoint for riders and side by sides. Bike now has a kill switch ;-)

Algorithm comment: nice to see Beta getting some more love on the channel again. I got a couple of key areas I’d like to see addressed: the wire harness as it routed over the steer stem and whether it might kink there. And another is the steer stops, like what’s the turn radius feeling like? Oh and another thing (I couldn’t see from the image) if not done already, I would strongly recommend block off that steer lock keyhole. Bout 20-25 hours and a few washes in, I found my lower steer stem bearing pretty nasty (it’s a shame we can’t share photos in the comments)

Hey Morgan, I got a question that isn't about the Beta but since you discussed mufflers/silencers... I got a '23 TE300 TPI that I need to get a spark arrestor for. I have seen the "end cap" ones are the cheapest but it seems like they clog up and cause issues on 2t bikes (saw your video about one). Is there a cap that works and is worth getting or should I get a different silencer? If so, what would you recommend that works well with TPI? Quieter is better for me.

Best you can get is the FMF turbine core 2.1 like on the beta. The only cap one I recommend is the enduro engineering one. It will clog but takes longer and is easy to remove and clean

Any idea if the RR's Certificate of Origin state "off-road use only"? We need plated bikes where I ride, so KTMs and Huskys are the go-to since their COOs do not mention anything about off-road.

My Beta dealer in Illinois said he can plate any of the Beta models. I bought a Xtrainer 300 and am getting plates for it. I'm sure it varies state to state. When I bought a Ktm that dealer also said he can plate any model.

Beta’s COO does not say off road use only. It says “motorcycle” and can be plated easily in most states I would assume. Here in NJ they’re one of the few 2 strokes that come with a temp tag right off the showroom floor. Beta owner since 2016 here.

@@highlandcycles I have a 2023 200 RR RE and sold my 2016 KTM 200. It's night and day difference. The torque on the 200 RR is like a 250, it feels lighter than the KTM and smoother on 1/4 throttle when you need steady power. The only thing the same between the KTM 200 and RR 200 I would say is the power as in HP, its not more powerful but the type of power and useability is much better on the Beta RR
