Raf, you have a lot to learn about radioactive minerals. They are not dangerous if you store them correctly. I have several Betafites, Uraninites and Thorites in my home. Still at normal background levels. Also, Silver Crater was not mined for weapons! It was mined for Mica and prospected for rare earth minerals. Nothing went to bombs. It all went to mineral collections. People have been collecting Betafites there since the 60's.

Wow Raf, that's a lot of betafite you collected. I think even half a kilo would be shedding beta particles like fireworks constantly. Beautiful dodecahedrons for sure will make amazing display pieces for sure and from a world class site like Silver Crater Mine and makes them that much more desired by collectors. Thanks again for sharing your adventure Raf. Lloyd.

Can you find urananite in sil.crater mine ,im not taking chances, you know what happened to Marie Curie.

No Uraninites at Silver Crater. Marie devoted her life to studying radiation. No one had a clue what long term exposure did back then. Be prepared, not scared!!
