One of the best videos you have done. Your calm approach is the way to remove the stress, but this comes from your planned approach to each situation. As you say you have a plan that you are going to deploy, but you also know that may not work out. Once you select your entry you then have the ability to read the situation and see if the likely hood of a positive trade still exists or doesn't.

Great video Peter and seen just at the right time. My free trial expires tomorrow and whilst I've only been in practice mode I've struggled thus far. Manage a handful of small greens only for it to wiped out by a single red! This video has encouraged me to take up a subscription and keep persevering (albeit still in practice mode). Keep up the great work Sir and thank you from the beginners.

Best way to stop going in play is to never watch the horse racing. Just dont have the pictures available and once the timer gets to 0:00 close your trades. Win or Lose. You wilk find the markets stall after this time anyway.

@@thescallytrader I hear what you're saying and - to a certain extent - I agree with you. BUT - and its a big 'but', so often Bet Angel is adrift time wise, purely because races are going off late for some reason or other. I watch the races (mainly pre-off) to ensure that I hang on until the last few moments. I'm afraid its the racer/gambler in me that buggers it up after that! :-(

A very good topic for a Video. One of the issues with leaving trades in that have gone against you is over staking relative to the size of your account. If you are overstaking and it goes against you, it is easy to leave it on £10 stakes, but try leaving it when your OP is £500 and it's ticking down at £50 per tick. One improvement I'd like to see on Bet Angel (there can't be many more improvements left) is the ability to have a staking plan which has predefined stakes but for tick size AFTER hedge. So if I wanted to trade for £5 per tick After hedging the stakes are set up in BA. I know I can do this myself but I'd like the option to preset the stakes. I dont know if it's possible as once the market goes 5.8 5.9 6.0 then 6.2 the hedge size will double. Over staking is an account killer. I think if you want to make £100 per day and have a responsible staking plan you need a £10k account.
@betangeltv6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would help to have a stake geared to the hedge value. If you trade more than once it a market that should influence your next trade but won't if you stake according to the ultimate hedge value. You unbalance the profit and losses in that scenario.
@thescallytrader6 жыл бұрын
@@betangeltv - you are probably right but if you have a £1000 account maybe you could do a Video on how to change stakes depending on tick size. So if you are trading a 2.0 to 3.0 Market you wouldn't use the same size stake as in a 6.0 to 10 market (or would you?). If not, why not? People who are classed as 'Novice' or Beginners need to learn how to structure their stakes relative to tick size and account size with the emphasis on protecting their losses and maximising profits. I guess people on £1000 accounts regularly lose up to and over 10% of their account on a single trade. I know I have my times. I wish I'd of watched that video in my early days. I'd make it myself but my accent will not come across to well... lol.

Great video. I did much the same my first week then had a word with myself 😆. I had set a stop loss profits then ignored them. This week has been much better and I went into profit and chose my markets and trades better . In all honesty I think there would always have been a week where I had to do this to teach me a lesson ( as I am very risk adverse by nature ) , so yeah it was very affirming for me to see this today . I am getting there but a very small scale trader whilst learning the ropes.

I was also very risk averse when I first started trading, but learnt to shake that off. There is no real short cut to doing that other than getting your hand in on the market.

One thing that does stand out with these ' demo vids ' is £10 units will always get matched ok. However if you had a £200 / £500 bet sat there waiting to close out the trade the other better , more observant traders keep jumping in front and making it harder , sometimes forcing a red as they ' know ' you're trying to get out.

@7.50 how can the 3rd horse be traded because it's more 'rational', do you mean it could be a good scalping opportunity because it is maintaining a more level trading range?
@jossyinc4 жыл бұрын
When I first looked at this market my thought was that the 2nd fav was coming in and the favourite was drifting so this could be ideal for a swing trade. Would it have been sensible to open with a lay bet on the fav at around 2.74 with a close back bet at about 2.9? This would get more profit than scalping the third favourite? Or was there not enough indicators that the market would move this way? I am just learning at the moment...

Hello Peter. Great videos, I'm learning a lot and am nearly ready to start trading. How long before a race starts should I begin monitoring it? Am I right in saying that scalping should only be done in the last few minutes? What about swing-trading? If I want to be trading about 10 races a day, presumably there's only a limit to how much time I can devote to each one? Thanks.
@betangeltv4 жыл бұрын
If you watch the markets, you will see money starting to increase rapidly 5-10 minutes before. Highly money getting matched makes it easier to get rid of a trade if its wrong and you need to take a loss. I generally trade every race, apart from those that I think I can't 'read'.

Think that first part of the video was just as I used to trade. Essentially, he / she would have best made £10 even for a straight bet with that initial entry, yet managed to lose half of the potential profit just by trading. Taking a step back it's obvious, but when you're in the thick of it, you simply cannot see the wood for the trees.

The only thing I'd say is you talk of different strategies for each market, are you referring to the kinds of races? For instance aren't handicap races more likely to 'spring back', and may be better for scalping than maiden races? This race was a maiden I thought they are more likely to trend. So you're better off trying to work out what is going to shorten and what's going to drift? Rather than scalping it as you have here? I imagine you're going to say there are many other factors which determine how you may want to trade the race. Anyway thanks.

This might or might not be relevant to this video but I would say using the staking plan below would help you out: This is per £1000 of your account. 10 £50 stakes. These would be MAXIMUM stakes. If you have a £3000 account there would be a chance you should still trade as a £1000 account using these figures and scale up once you have experience. The reason I've posted this is, I believe you shouldn't be risking more than 1% of your entire account on any one trade, so if your trade hits 1% Red Hedge you should close it and reassess. If it hits green you can let it run or take your profit when you think its right. I also would not multiply these stakes by more than x4 regardless of your account size (unless at a Big Meeting) as the market might not accommodate you when you are trying to get out and the losses would be greater than necessary and profits harder to find. Dont forget you can open and close as many trades in one race as you see fit.
