I think asking who the president was when they were born was a bad choice, maybe like who was the president when you were 10 years old instead
@EssexRecordingStudios Жыл бұрын
@yapzilla it is shocking to me that people (especially in the Super narcissistic era we live in now) are not intellectually curious about their own origin. Going to school in the 90s, we were all called "Reagan Babies." I heard that term so many times. You would also see your elders saying "I lived through X amount of presidents and Y amount of wars" which would make kids wonder how many president they had lived under. Super common thoughts to have. I guess all of that has been replaced with "which version of Pokemon existed when you were born?"
@armored_guy Жыл бұрын
@@EssexRecordingStudios oh stop acting superior. We do want to know about our origins but usually joe we take dna tests and wanna Learn our ancestry. Stop acting like your smarter or superior just cause you were born in an earlier generation.
@lavoniaholloway1245 Жыл бұрын
@@armored_guy I reallllllllyyyyy don’t think that’s their point. I am millennial and I know the presidents I’ve lived under: Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden. For someone to not know the presidents they lived under is strange to me, but I assumed that some people wouldn’t know unless it was impactful to them in some way. Like growing up in 90s-00s Harlem, politics was mildly important to us. We would hear about Clinton and Bush and Obama A LOT. Mainly Bush and Obama. People were being killed by people’s bigotry in the 00s, even by other democrats and liberals. Soldiers used to walk the streets and were never a rare sighting (I used to wave or salute to them). I think maybe some kids just weren’t paying attention to things like this. So that’s where I disagree with the other guy. It has less to do with generations and probably more to do with privilege (of not having to hear about politics and social issues much) and the fact that some of this stuff never impacted them in ways that other children felt impacted. Also American children are notoriously known for forgetting material they learned in school over summer vacation. I rarely did. That’s why I was always bored in history class when I was a kid because it was so repetitive
