heard this song for the first time a few days ago and I was floored at how accurately it described my own feelings. My best friend and I were a mess, but I would've done anything for her. I realised the extent of my feelings when she got a boyfriend. With his influence she turned her life around for the better while I was still struggling with alcohol and internalised homophobia. We're still friends (though no longer close) and I'm happily married now, but this song really skewers how I felt in those months after she first got with him.
