Hey man. Thanks for posting this. I bought your preset and tried it at rehearsal today. It was perfect for what I needed. The only thing I tweaked was the treble and presence on the amp model. I bound them to my expression pedal and set them to reduce to about 1.5 at the down setting, essentially making a “tone knob” for my Peavey Wolfgang that doesn’t have one. I also made the toe switch on the expression pedal the tuner on/off button so I could have all three switches on the stomp available. Keep posting these videos brother! You’re doing great work!

Hi Eric, thank you for your kind words and support in downloading my preset! Your application of the expression pedal as an extended tone control and a tuner on/off button is cool! Which expression pedal do you use which has a toe switch?

And the Wolfgang is, perhaps, the clearest guitar I’ve ever heard, likely due to no tone circuit. Wired straight to jack (if it is) is an incredibly clear sound. Great guitars!

Great sounds ..... Hey our sound guy says that an AC30 is the perfect worship amp because of where the frequencies fit with everything else ..... He's a pro and works with the pros regularly, so I definitely respect his opinion.... Also, that happens to be my favorite amp of all time (for worship). I appreciate your vids, great tone!!

Hi Andy, thanks for the kind words! Ah, his words have more weight than mine, for sure! I did own a Marshall-esque and a Vox AC15HW at one point in time, and the Vox had a voice that just made the guitar audible in any band situation (it was a monster to carry around though!).
@BelovedDefender10 ай бұрын
I tend to really like the Matchless as an alternative to the AC30 in my patches. Once I started using the Matchless 1 channel in my patches I started liking my tones more and found them to be more inspiring for me personally.

That's great! The Matchless amps in the Line 6 ecosystem are so versatile. I can totally pull off a doubled guitar track using the Matchless on a metal project.

Sounds great! Modern compact modelers are extremely capable, but it just takes time to dial things in. Totally possible to have a complete fly rig with a single pedal. GT-1000Core, HX Stomp and XL, Headrush MX5, Fractal FM3, etc. I've got a whole pile of pedals gathering dust since I went with a compact modeler.

Hi there, thanks for stopping by and sticking around for my content! I appreciate it heaps! I'll let in on a secret, I also use AC30's for metal. Yes, I'll follow client specifications to record using a Mesa or a Marshall tight metal sound, but I'll sneakily blend in a separate track recorded with the AC30 for more hair and bite.

To answer what amps we use in church, I used an Orange model for my rhythm tones and an AC30 and Tweed Princeton for cleaner, modulated tones. There's no rules, and I have a ton of fun playing around.

@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub, and for the kind words! I actually don't have a pure demo video of the tones in my pack, maybe I should put one together. But as a personal rule for me, the patches used in the video will be exact one available in the pack, no modifications. If the video is based on Bethel, it should be my Bethel pack, and if it's not specified, it's probably my HX Stomp Worship Essentials Pack. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnSXfqh5mt9sqKM

Sounds great Justin! As someone that doesn’t have a ton of money to spend I find your minimalistic rig videos very helpful. One thing that I would love to know is how you would approach making a cheap, single-coil guitar sound similar to the modern worship guitars that utilize filtertrons and P90 style pickups. I’ve tried using the eq within the hx stomp but I haven’t been able to get my guitar to sound as full and clear as I would like. Keep up the awesome work!

For me, the Vox style amp sound is not overused. Some, like me, I like to emulate the sound of church guitarists and when I know what amp they are using I copy their settings but if I don't like the sound, I tweak it to my liking and if I still can't get "there" I choose another amp type like fender or matchless or etc. But mostly when I tweak the amp for my liking I stick to it even if I am not using the same amp type of that guitarist(s). Its a personal preference, really.
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar10 ай бұрын
Indeed, those decisions lead to a sound that is yours! I will admit though, even when I try to tweak these tones as close as possible to the original artist, my playing style still makes me sound like me. Copying and pasting each effect setting has no guarantee of achieving the same sound because we’re all unique.

The AC30 has a time and place for sure in p&w. I mainly play 2nd lead/rhythm on my worship team and do prefer the sound of Deluxe Reverb (I get my tone through UAFX Dream 65) for those parts.

Ah, the really cool layering of Fender and Vox tones, that's my default combination when I play with a fellow EG on the time. 2nd lead! That's a cool position to have. Your team must be quite big?

Some of the subtleties of the rig can't be recreated with just the Stomp, to be sure. I feel like a real POG is much less harsh than what we have on the Stomp, for example.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, these specific patches will load on a Helix, with a lot of empty buttons and blocks since it’s primarily for the HX Stomp. You could potentially build out a much more complicated rig with this as the starting point. However, I also have Helix-specific patches, which are also in the Bethel pack.
