Best Bible teacher ever! Did anyone else feel the tickling of the Holy Spirit, as Jonathan filled us with wisdom? Rabbi Cahn, I am a huge fan of your content because we love Jesus Christ. May the Lord continually bless the works of your hands. “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.” - Romans 5:15

Rabbi I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear you to do the same for the Hosea story. The Godly, preistly man who was asked to be joined to a harlot. The Sripture isn't clear on Hosea's heart in the matter.... and his feelings throughout the marriage. We've been taught it was to model God's unconditional Love to faithless Israel. But I feel the meaning is deeper still.

@yvetteandjorgenlarsen9753 I still believe there is more of a message there like the Rabbi did today's. I've always wondered how a Godly man today would respond. Yes obedience matters, but what deeper things of God was learned?

2 And it came to pass that while my father tarried in the wilderness he spake unto us, saying: Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision. 3 And behold, because of the thing which I have seen, I have reason to rejoice in the Lord because of Nephi and also of Sam; for I have reason to suppose that they, and also many of their seed, will be saved. 4 But behold, Laman and Lemuel, I fear exceedingly because of you; for behold, methought I saw in my dream, a dark and dreary wilderness. 5 And it came to pass that I saw a man, and he was dressed in a white robe; and he came and stood before me. 6 And it came to pass that he spake unto me, and bade me follow him. 7 And it came to pass that as I followed him I beheld myself that I was in a dark and dreary waste. 8 And after I had traveled for the space of many hours in darkness, I began to pray unto the Lord that he would have mercy on me, according to the multitude of his tender mercies. 9 And it came to pass after I had prayed unto the Lord I beheld a large and spacious field. 10 And it came to pass that I beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy. 11 And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen. 12 And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit. 13 And as I cast my eyes round about, that perhaps I might discover my family also, I beheld a river of water; and it ran along, and it was near the tree of which I was partaking the fruit. 14 And I looked to behold from whence it came; and I saw the head thereof a little way off; and at the head thereof I beheld your mother Sariah, and Sam, and Nephi; and they stood as if they knew not whither they should go. 15 And it came to pass that I beckoned unto them; and I also did say unto them with a loud voice that they should come unto me, and partake of the fruit, which was desirable above all other fruit. 16 And it came to pass that they did come unto me and partake of the fruit also. 17 And it came to pass that I was desirous that Laman and Lemuel should come and partake of the fruit also; wherefore, I cast mine eyes towards the head of the river, that perhaps I might see them. 18 And it came to pass that I saw them, but they would not come unto me and partake of the fruit. 19 And I beheld a rod of iron, and it extended along the bank of the river, and led to the tree by which I stood. 20 And I also beheld a strait and narrow path, which came along by the rod of iron, even to the tree by which I stood; and it also led by the head of the fountain, unto a large and spacious field, as if it had been a world. 21 And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood. 22 And it came to pass that they did come forth, and commence in the path which led to the tree. 23 And it came to pass that there arose a mist of darkness; yea, even an exceedingly great mist of darkness, insomuch that they who had commenced in the path did lose their way, that they wandered off and were lost. 24 And it came to pass that I beheld others pressing forward, and they came forth and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press forward through the mist of darkness, clinging to the rod of iron, even until they did come forth and partake of the fruit of the tree. 25 And after they had partaken of the fruit of the tree they did cast their eyes about as if they were ashamed. 26 And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the other side of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth. 27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit. 28 And after they had tasted of the fruit they were ashamed, because of those that were scoffing at them; and they fell away into forbidden paths and were lost. 29 And now I, Nephi, do not speak all the words of my father. 30 But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell down and partook of the fruit of the tree. 31 And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building. 32 And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strange roads. 33 And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not. 34 These are the words of my father: For as many as heeded them, had fallen away. 35 And Laman and Lemuel partook not of the fruit, said my father. 36 And it came to pass after my father had spoken all the words of his dream or vision, which were many, he said unto us, because of these things which he saw in a vision, he exceedingly feared for Laman and Lemuel; yea, he feared lest they should be cast off from the presence of the Lord. 37 And he did exhort them then with all the feeling of a tender parent, that they would hearken to his words, that perhaps the Lord would be merciful to them, and not cast them off; yea, my father did preach unto them. 1 Nephi 8 Book of Mormon

And scripture says something about who ever hangs on a tree is cursed. Judas.

@Wasabeaz the translation is... his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that you do not defile the land which the LORD your GOD is giving you as an inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of GOD. I'm no expert of biblical interpretation but I think it means for anyone who has not accepted Jesus and died hung on a tree or cross, however the cross is no longer a tree once it has been carved into a cross. But no one truly knows the mind of the LORD GOD. But remember scripture and know this, the LORD GOD knows everyone's Heart, and if they are RIGHTEOUS or not.

@Wasabeaz Deuteronomy 21:23 I take the scriptures seriously, literally when they are and when they are symbolic I study them until I know what they mean. I do that by reading them and meditating on them and most importantly I ask the Helper the Holy Spirit RUACH HA'KODESH ✝ 🇮🇱

Just because a cross is made of wood it is no longer a tree but an object carved from a tree and now a cross. Just as the Virgin Mary used to be a virgin but is no longer a virgin after laying with her husband Joseph and having children of her own flesh.

Very good brother, up until the point of being joined to the tree. In your opposing example, Messiah's result was a transformed resurrected spirit-body. Even as his body was joined to the tree. He didn't join it in death, brother, as you know. Death is a result of our carnal body. So A&E were joined to their tree of death, bc it involves their body, with and of the serpent. He represented the one, and Jesus is the Tree of Life. The choice that we make, as you said. And the kingdoms that result. Thus the fig leaves that were required for their nakedness/purity lost, and eyes open. Open to what, lust of the flesh. Even as it came from the enemy for the fall. The long running theme in the Bible. Speak the truth brother. Or you are of the deception of the enemy. Haven't you had enough?

Demons or curses of Apollo for disrespecting his priest. Plagues and Divine Wrath in Greek Mythology In Greek mythology, plagues were often viewed as manifestations of divine wrath, sent by the gods to punish mortals. Apollo and other gods associated with punishment, disease, and purification. --- Apollo: God of Healing and Plagues Apollo, a complex deity, was known as the god of healing, prophecy, music, and plagues. His dual role as a bringer of disease and a healer highlights the delicate balance between punishment and mercy in Greek mythology. Apollo’s Arrows and Plagues Apollo was believed to cause illnesses, particularly fevers and respiratory ailments, by shooting invisible arrows at mortals. His arrows symbolized the sudden, uncontrollable nature of disease. The Iliad, an epic by Homer, provides one of the most famous examples of Apollo's wrath: Context: Agamemnon, leader of the Greek forces, insults Apollo's priest, Chryses, by refusing to return his daughter, Chryseis. Divine Wrath: In anger, Chryses prays to Apollo, who sends a devastating plague upon the Greek army. The soldiers suffer and die until Agamemnon returns the girl and appeases the god with sacrifices. --- Asclepius: God of Medicine and Healing Asclepius, Apollo's son, represents the opposite side of Apollo's dual nature. While Apollo could send disease, Asclepius was associated with curing it. Known as the god of medicine, Asclepius was revered for his healing abilities, which were so advanced that he could bring the dead back to life. This act of defying natural law angered Zeus, who killed Asclepius with a thunderbolt. --- Plagues in Other Myths While Apollo is the primary deity associated with plagues, other gods also played roles in punishing humanity through disease: Hera and Heracles Hera, in her jealousy and hatred for Heracles, sends madness, sickness, and other forms of divine punishment to torment him. Pandora and the Release of Suffering In Hesiod's "Works and Days," Pandora opens a jar (often mistranslated as "box"), releasing all forms of suffering, including disease, into the world. This myth explains the origin of human afflictions as divine punishment for Prometheus's theft of fire. Demeter’s Famine While not a plague in the medical sense, Demeter caused widespread famine and suffering by withholding the fertility of the earth after her daughter Persephone was kidnapped by Hades. --- Significance of Plagues in Greek Mythology Plagues in Greek mythology often carried symbolic and moral meanings: 1. Divine Justice: Plagues were punishments for hubris (excessive pride), impiety, or breaking sacred laws. 2. Mortality and Humility: They reminded humans of their mortality and dependence on the gods. 3. Purification: Plagues could serve as a form of cleansing, forcing societies to atone for their sins and restore harmony with the divine. --- Rituals to Appease the Gods When faced with plagues, the ancient Greeks often turned to rituals, prayers, and sacrifices to appease the gods. For example: Sacrifices: Animals or offerings were given to the offended deity. Purification Rites: Special ceremonies were performed to cleanse individuals or communities of miasma (spiritual pollution). Consulting Oracles: People sought guidance from oracles, especially the Oracle of Delphi, which was sacred to Apollo. --- Modern Interpretations The myths of plagues and divine wrath in Greek mythology are often interpreted as allegories for: Natural disasters or historical epidemics. The consequences of human actions, such as war or environmental destruction. The tension between human free will and divine authority. Would you like further details about Apollo, Asclepius, or another specific plague myth?
