I´m Mexican , and Soda Stereo if for me the most influential Latin American band. There where lots of great bands from the same time, mostly from 3 countries: México, Argentina (a lot) and Chile, but no one like Soda Stereo. Big hit for your channel, there are some other songs from them, in pretty different styles. One technical detail to point out: Did you hear at 3:23 the phrase "tus ojos, nunca mentirán" ("your eyes will never lie") ? it was sang in perfect tuning at unison with an 8 note scale in the guitar. BTW is so hard to try to play the guitar in the way that Gustavo Cerati did and sing at the same time. R.I.P Gustavo, Greetings from México, great video as ever Beth !

I’ve been watching your channel for a long time, and even today I don’t know if you’re Amy Adams or Isla Fisher. Just kidding you are more beautiful than both. Congratulations from Brazil. We really like Soda Stereo here in Brazil even though we don't speak Spanish. Saludo a nuestros hermanos argentinos. Vive la música de América Latina.

I was there, twice actually. So good, so timeless, losing him seems unreal, he was an absolute musical genious, its not only his talented fingers or vocals, his musical brain, the way he crafted each song is so unique not only for the band's style but even unique among each song they had, we had and have plenty of good musicians here in Argentina, pretty much like in any other country, each has amazing artists, but having one that has the perfect mixture of being a genious and being easy to hear for everyone is something we dont see every day, his music was made for the entire world, at least we have that, all his art, and we can reproduce it as many times as we want, and of course we can share it with people who dont know it yet.

I was at one of their concerts in Miami back in 2007 he sounds exactly the same every time. He was such a performer and perfectionist. I was hypnotized. It was a dream come true, I cried, my friend cried. We grew up listening and watching the their last concert videos and being there was just a dream come true. Being able to experience their all, I got the chills now.

Soda Stereo wan an amazing band, the most famous rock band in spanish. Now, you have to react to another Argentine band, Pescado Rabioso, their live performance of “Despiértate Nena/Corto/ Pescado Rabioso” in 1973 is outstanding and there are 2 singers and they were at their prime. You know, Argentina is known as the land of Rock in spanish language, specifically Buenos Aires (city in Argentina)... every musician in the 70’s wanted to move to Buenos Aires because there was a huge movement with Progressive Music. Buenos Aires was what London was for English musicians in the 60’s. Also in Buenos Aires, in 1972 took place one of the biggest festivals of Latin America, called “Hasta que se ponga el sol”, It was like the Woodstock of spanish speakers

"sometimes you think you are taking the wrong turn, but actually you're making the best choice you could've" Damn. I'm 36, from Argentina and I was in this very concert.... man, this guy had such a powerful and emotional voice. I've been fortunate enough to see many other artists with great voices (Roger Waters, Shakira) and to be fair, he is just on a league of his own. If you want to see something really cool about Gustavo, you should check out "11 episodios sinfonicos". It was recorded live, where he'd do symphonic versions of his own songs (and also Soda Stereo's). Soda Stereo is by far my favorite band, their music is not only great but their lyrics are extremely powerful, and Gustavo's voice was always alluring.

Im so glad you chose Soda Stereo!!! If you want to continue to discover great and interesting singers from my country please react to Mercedes Sosa singing "solo le pido a Dios " or "gracias a la vida". Her voice was unique and rooted in our folklore music. Also you.could react to Fabulosos cadillacs maybe singing matador. Their rock has elements of all Kinds of latín music styles. IT shoud be perfect also to react to Caetano Veloso from brazil (tonada de luna llena) or aterciopelados from colombia (maligno)
