This album is literally a masterpiece. A musica bible. A culture reset. All at once. Fan fact: This was the first suprise album that Beyoncé released. When new music used to be released on tuesdays, Beyoncé out of nowhere, in a middle of a world tour, dropped this visual album on a friday (December 13th 2013) because she said that make more sense to release a music on Friday / weekend. She changed the Music industry, and still to this date, new music come out on friday. Still can’t believe how she didn’t win album of the year with this.

It's been a long time since I heard this album. It was a good thing to refresh it with your reaction video. I was as amazed first time listening to this album as you were. The production here must be her best, it's just magnificent. XO was fantastically placed; after the slower tracks this little bop took some sweetness into the game. And the chorus felt really nostalgic to me. There's one song that I have an issue with - Blue. Heaven is constructed instrumentally to be the last track for me. I never had a pleasure listening to Blue, cause it felt unnecessary. Kinda hot take, I know. And of course I really enjoyed the whole reaction. Btw, pretty outfit ☺️

Thought for you as a newer listener!! First of all, listening to this album closely you can see the hints of Jay's cheating. It's an album about coming into your own as a woman and learning to stand up for yourself and unlearn harmful messages. The pagent samples you hear are from Beyoncé's youth! Haunted is definitely the spiritual ancestor of 6 inch on Lemonade! She produced with the same person, Boots, and I think the song is about the sneaking suspicion that you're being cheated on. Drunk in Love: Jay and Bey were both actually drunk recording this lol. Partition: the French part is a French version of the feminist monologue from the Big Lebowski! Right before you hear that, someone says "hello!". That's a sample from a song Kendrick Lamar wrote early in his career about wanting to be with Beyoncé lol. I thought it was a clever sample, especially bc the song is sexy, but also you can hear her kinda begging Jay to pay attention to her, so her bringing that sample I'm is almost taunting him, like come on, other people want me but you don't? Mine: I agree about Drake! Without his part it's one of my favorite songs by her haha. Beautiful song! ***Flawless: the asterisks are for the three stars Star Search gave Girls Time, her first band/girl group! Also chimamanda Ngozie Adiche, whose Ted Talk was sampled, is a wonderful author who I recommend! Superpower: About the strength of black love in the face of adversity!! A good precursor to Lemonade with the racial equality and justice themes. Blue: love that she ends with a song about her daughter! I heard she first started writing this song when she had a miscarriage, then continued writing it when she had Blue!! You can hear the heartache and the joy.

Standing On The Sun remix was the only version released. It isn’t that type of generic remixes, it’s an alternative pop re-arrange. When it come to Beyoncé and Britney, remixes are not the typical club version, they are really remade songs, a part two, a multiverse. This one has additional verses and vocals. You should give remixes at least a one chorus try because you might get surprised. Give Standing On The Sun a listen, you really lost an official track. The original version was a minute long H&M commercial.
