So long I listened to this song, SMH, wondering if they programed some of the kick, like, you're telling me he put the kick there in real time, he absolutely did. D to me is in the rare space of musical savant, Ray, Stevie, Prince, Mike, D'Angelo, people that can go into a studio full of equipment and INSTRUMENTS, and come out with an album that sounds like a whole team produced it. Truly extra ordinary.

As a bass player and true apostle of the funk. I can’t tell you how many times I have listened to this track. Well lemme tell ya…. If I were to guess…. Probably a shit ton of times AND MANY in fact probably definately most of those times have been in my older (but still pretty decent) Lincoln that has a quite nice sounding ster-ee-air-ee-oh with the volume cranked up and instinctively bumped the bass down a couple notches because the tracking so bass heavy. This is pure fucking rhythm section bliss… absolute airtight in the pocket JUJU perfection.
