When you love someone to the bone, you treat her like a Princess. You exist for her only, but soon you learn that you love her forever 💔. My late mother said these exact words to me when I took my English fiancé back to meet my parents " When you love someone to the bone" your life going forward is going to be very miserable. Trust me son I have lived this through with your dad. Never the less I went ahead and married her becos I told mum this is what love is all about. Must admit it that mum was right. Absolutely no regrets we had a beautiful life with two lovely daughters. Dedicate this song to my late wife Eileen. I came across this song 18 years back and it was sung by a guy. Don't understand a word of Chinese although I am Chinese. I just love this song instantly then becos I could feel the love and pain this song is conveying. Lucky for me I came across this English version this week and now appreciates the meaning of this love song. But I ignored the betrayal part becos love is both sweet and bitter and lives forever in our memory. I still prefer the Chinese version emotionally. Thank you for the beautiful written commentary and it brought back loving and sad memories in our lives. 💔 💔 💔

If not mistaken, this song was originally sung by Steve Chou. I also came across this song long time ago and could not understand a word although I am Chinese too. Only came across this English version today. The expression of love and pain is so true. It penetrate through the heart. Such a beautiful song.
