Bob Mumford was a life giving part of my life when I became a believer in 1970. I listened to his teachings faithfully because he was so down to earth yet profoundly inspiring. I loved his humor that went deep into my heart because of the truth he was speaking.

I started listening to Bob Mumford back in 1972 and used to read his articles in the New Wine magazine. I also saw him speak at Valley Cathedral in Phoenix years ago. I always enjoyed his clever humor. Great words of wisdom about failure and dumb choices. Fantastic message. I am going to save this in my files!

Thanks for being faithful to your calling. I was part of Agape Fellowship and was one of Derek’s “young men” from Kansas City. Your teachings were very instrumental to our personal growth. I had the opportunity to be your driver on a couple of occasions and was part of the team that was involved in both the 1975 and 1977 conferences held in KC. You bring back many fond memories. Blessings.

Thank you, Bob. Listened to many a cassette tape by you and your teachings in the 1970s when I was born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit! God Bless you, my brother. I have many of those dumb choices w/o doubt.

Thank you Bob Mumpford! You are one of my spiritual fathers! So good to hear the voice of a mentor and teacher in my journey. In the late eighties and early nineties I consumed every teaching and video you sent, helped me a lot. In a time of betrayal I was told “I have to rewrite your brain”. And also “Betrayal is the seedbed of sonship”.

What a wonderful gift to come across this podcast. I couldn't believe it's really Bob Mumford! I really thought you had passed away because I hadn't heard any teachings from you in years! God bless you and thank you--the richness of your teaching is even better! I'm in shock but so thankful. I, too, am in my eightieth year and get the talk about who's going to tell Grandma she can't drive?!!😀. Not there yet but can see it in time! Love to you and your family.❤️🙏

5/21/24 Thank you Bob for the teaching on "the three lighthouses" that must line up as one that was in one of you books many years ago, when making really big decisions. God's peace within, circumstances and it wont contradict Gods word. It's a gentle reminder for me at this time (also in mid 80's) when considering a new option to treat a chronic mental health pain issue in a non invasive way, where a multitude of other medications have not worked. God bless you.

Dear Mr Mumford, it is so wonderful to hear this message. You visited and spoke quite often at our church/fellowship in East Lansing, Michigan in the 70's. I am grateful for your foundational teachings in those days as I was new follower of Jesus. Thank you so much. God's richest blessings on you and your family

Thank you sir. I first heard you preach in 1975 at Stawell Tops in Australia. You impacted me then and I remember your message. You gave the illustration of a person believing a concrete wall was made of rubber and refusing to listen to advice. This message is one I will also remember. Bless you!

You will never know how much you have helped me. I betrayed my soul mate when I was in the darkest place of my life. My life has been destroyed but God saved me and as much as I have learned self pity has been keeping me back. Now I can make the sacrifice to please God and make sure that my family will want for nothing. I hope I will be able to marry her again one day but as long as I can please God with how I live my life from now on it will be worth it.

I’m 68 now. All I’ve ever known is failure and loss…… Is it ever acceptable to experience even a modest amount of success? I’m below the poverty level now. Divorced, no children, nothing but ashes to look back on. The level of despondency and despair that I experience is staggering . Yet from those in ministry that continue to call for us to lay our life down and live a crucified life, it seems as though that’s essentially a call to never develop competencies in any area of life. to do so would work to instill self-confidence. The teaching is that we are to have no confidence in ourselves, only in Christ. I’m at the point where it seems to be a schizophrenic understanding of the gospel.

Once again. Thanks Bob for your deeply insightful teachings. Great food for the soul! Some of your comments reminded me of an earlier teaching, “Conduct in the Battle” And, thanks much for ministering to me since I came to Christ in 1972. Matter of fact, the first teaching series I listened to was “The Purpose of Temptation” ca 1972. My and my bride to be sat in my folks living room and “ ate it up like little birds!! Much has happened since but we praise the Lord that you continue sharing your heart and Gods. Bless you brother! We love you.

I'm going through this now. To do with three significant relationships. I've held on for so long, but they have been very manipulative and emotionally abusive. It's incredibly painful to face the truth and let go 😢

What you described in the last statement pertaining to turning outward toward The Father is what I have found to be true repentance. It's always been described to me as changing direction, going one way then deciding to go another. That description isn't false but I believe it is incomplete because it leaves out the fact it's not a direction it's to Our ABBA Father we need to turn for healing of these wounds and in turn reach out to a hurting world full of betrayed, mistake ridden people who need the us to be an extension of The Anointed Son who poured Himself out showing us how it's to be done.

This aligns with what Tom Mohn taught many years ago. Tom passsed recently. He used to teach about the things that God uses. For him there were four particular issues. When God is preparing a man, God will walk him through at least four distinctive events. First man gets a test of success. Second a man gets a taste of failure. Third a man gets a taste of betrayal. And finally, a man will get a taste of heresy.
