Betrayed and Broken - 08/19/18

In the garden of Eden, the dew was still wet on the grass of creation when the rst two people He created betrayed Him. Then, in the garden of Gethsemane, the grass was wet from the blood-drops of sweat from the brow of the Son of God when one of His best friends betrayed Him. But out of both of those betrayals, we see a Savior, a Rescuer, and a Ruler who died on a cross and came back from the grave so that He can take any betrayal and turn it into a blessing.

Man I thought my pain was gone. I went thru the most terrible divorce in 2018 and this sermon got me thru 110%. We shared custody for 18 months no problems. Then, the most crazy circumstances forced me to file for emergency custody for my son when I had access to my son already. In my emergency petition I stated I have no interest in more custody than my ex but am temporarily scared for my sons safety. Then she lied to the judge she would work with me and go back to letting me see my son (6 months ago). I havent seen him since. I went from so happy and moving on, to once again stewing and being bitter and being unforgiving. I would be the most selfish foolish person to act perfect but it's so incredibly difficult to try to navigate marital and divorce issues without honesty from the other person.

Christ calls believers to a higher standard and sadly that standard is not met on occasion. The good news is Christ never leaves us (Hebrews 13:5). Hold fast to Him through all things.
