Obviously a work of fiction badly thought out. She's a married woman having an affair with an ex partner. Husband finds out she leaves to set up home with the AP. She and the AP plan a wedding then out of the blue she calls her husband saying "Ryan dumped me in front of everyone at the altar I have nobody else to turn to." Listening to the narration this all took place within a few weeks. BS! The timescale simply does not fit. You file for a divorce wait to get a court date. See a judge negotiate a mutually agreed settlement. The Judge may order mandatory counselling sessions before granting the divorce. Once you have the certificate of dissolution of the marriage only then can you apply to marry again. If he dumped her at the altar that implies a church wedding. Just does not happen that quickly!
