The lady can sing. Puts her voice, heart and soul into her music. Was lucky to see The Divine Miss M twice (close to the stage), she puts on a great show. I still have "Mud Will Be Flung Tonight" in my car, throw it in when I need a pick me up. She is definitely one of a kind.

I've only had the chance to see her once. Mud Will Be Flung is a hilarious act. I can recite it along with the track. I still listed from time to time! Why bother/

Even though (of course) this isn't the original arrangement, Bette's version just builds so brilliantly. Perfectly performed - with full conviction, passion & 200% of herself in this song.

@@deborahhelvig2869At her Madison Square Garden show a bunch of years ago, Bette joked: remember the old days when we were all taking drugs, and now, we're all taking medication? I am still scratching my head over the choice for her Broadway swan song; Hello, Dolly is a frivolous show made famous by the ancient (and brilliant) Carol Channing. It's a story about a withdrawn, aging, old widow. What in the world is our vivacious Divine One doing in such a vapid commercial enterprise? Well, she IS an old woman. And that's my distress. How could a Queen of my gay youth, who evolved into THE queen of my gay life, how can Bette be the same age as Old People?

Oh, The divine Ms. Bette, I good woman with her heart and head in the right place, never sold out, and way underappreciated. A Decent humble woman, look how she went off stage and insisted her background singers come out and bow. She can do it all Sing, Dance, Actor of immense talent being able to play any role lead or supportive comedy or serious, Stand Up Comedy, songwriting, and public speaking. A true National Treasure.

My bad. I was reading the synopsis when the name Kitchen Richards caught my eye. Not paying attention to the blip or to Bette's introduction, I was kinda shocked that this particular song was written by Keith Richards. I thought, in the back of my mind that Bob Dylan had something to do with this gem, but I couldn't recall ever hearing his version. So, it was actually Keith Richards (yet again I had fallen into the black hole of a know-nothing Millennial). I was so excited to share my new knowledge, despite the fact that it didn't exactly fit the mold of a Stones' anthem. Of course, I had memorized "I saw her today at the reception..." years ago when I first took notice of the credits' background theme, in the immensely charming, Boomer, coming of "grown-up" age despair. A real weepie once I got home. You know, Bette, we Boomers were going to change the world. This Lawrence Kaslan classic gave me a real jolt, forced me to "see my life's reflection." Cinema once had the balls
