S2 just lacked focus. I wouldn't consider it lesser than S1. An no, the series wasn't cut short, it was always going to be 2 seasons. Both season just took a long time, crew was ready to move on to another story.

@@Invader_Rin13 I agree! The first season was a 9/10 imo and the second was like a 5-6/10. I don't even mean that in a bad way it's just that there really needed to be more episodes.

I agree BUT Im overall satisfied with the ending that we have. It's just the journey left a lot to be desired.

@Invader_Rin13 I think it would've been fine if it had more episodes, though Netflix wouldn't allow it I heard. So it ends up being all over the place and too much info going on.

Arcane S2 tried to give us a 2-for-1 deal by packing two seasons of plot into one season. Specifically, act 1 was focused on the Piltover-Zaun conflict with Vi, Cait, and Jinx while act 3 was focused on the Jayce-Viktor conflict. Both storylines deserved at least their own season, so packing both into one season led to all the pacing problems and lack of focus in S2. I still liked Cait in S2 and her relationship with Vi though. The scene where Cait becomes commander is still one of my favourite scenes in Arcane.

Thanks for the clip! Gotta say I disagree tho. S1 was very solid and had closure, but with an open ending for s2. S2 expanded a lot on the world, its magic and factions. Feels like a set up for the future of Runeterra/the LoL cinematic universe. Tldr if s1 was 10/10, s2 is 8/10 which is still very solid but less satisfying due to the many things left unexplained/unexplored
